New baby in the house

So I came home all excited, finally out of the dumb airports, finally out of harness, time for some relaxin' playin' with Winston maybe, you know, Reba down week. O no! I get in the car and who do I see instead of Winston, this tiny little fuz ball. I had to sniff it all over to make sure it was a dog and not a rodent of some kind. It's a dog allright. This little tiny thing they're calling Annie. She looks a little like Dasher, only she's tiny and lighter in color, and she ain't Dasher. But they got her all set up here with Dasher's toys, Dasher's bed, Dasher's crate, I don't like her. I want her to go away and since this is my blog, I can vent here as much as I want to. Winston loves her. He thinks she's the cutest thing ever. Ok Ok I'll admit it. She is kind of cute. But I don't want her in this  house and certainly not in my room. I peed all over the floor twice just to show the baby this is my house. I'm in charge here. And when she comes near me, I worn her that is not acceptable. Mom and the rest are mad at me I think because they say I'm being a butt head. Shoot I can't help it if I don't want a baby around. She can't replace Dasher. They keep calling her Reba junior because she's a pistil. I will say though, the one thing I do like about her, the girl knows how to eat. Shoot she gets almost as excited about her food as I do. My kind of girl! Wolf that food ddown. But do y'all know how much food they feedin' this little rat? Shoot I ain't lyin' she was getting' fed like 6 times a day! Then 4, now she's down to 3 but she get sometimes two scoops of food in her bowl! I only get one scoop, twice a day. Winston says he thinks her scoops are littler than ours, but man she still getting' a ton of food! That's another reason I don't like her. A puppy smaller than my head should not be getting almost as much food as me that's just wrong. The humans finally workin' against me though. They know my weakness. If I'm nice to the puppy now, I get treats. Ah you're killing me here I mean it. Well, the humans ain't to happy with me right now because of all the messes I've made. Shoot I'm just tryin' to establish I'm on top here. Hello! I'm here! I'm goin' to my crate now. The humans are mad, and Winston is all caught up in the cuteness of the baby.

Reba the dog.

Trip to the mountain, part 2

Well bet you didn't think you'd get to hear two posts from me in the same
week did you. Shoot I go months with not a word then I give y'all two posts
in one week. But it's been a busy week.
I have to tell you about the one day out with the humans. Humans are so
weird! First, they went shoppin' which is normal. They even went in to a
store that sold dog stuff. Mom tried coats on me. But she didn't buy one. I
think she may though soon. Probably gunna be my Christmas present. Hello ma!
I want food and that's it!
Well after walkin' around different shops, they stopped at this fountain.
Y'all, I ain't kiddin' steam was comin' off this fountain. The water was hot
like in a bath tub. But we were outside. I don't get it! So then we went
inside and the rest of the time mom spent getting a bath and massage.
Couldn't she just take a bath at home? She did take a bath at home, now she
was taking another one. Whatever, I don't question the ways of humans no
matter how strange and that was strange. I was good though, I laid down and
waited for mom, and even licked her hand while she got the massage. No I
wasn't bein' nice. I liked the taste of the oil on her fingers! So that was
finally over and we went to the school where I got another apple and an
orange. Score for Reba! Bout time! I'm supposed to get 9 of everything on
this birthday. Remember? Well now on to the strangest thing this lab has
ever seen. And believe me, I've probably seen everything! If not, now I know
I have.
I been tryin' to figure this out all week and I just can't. So we drive up
and down the mountain to get places. Well near where we stayin', there's a
gate. And that's it. Just a gate. There's no fence, just two posts on either
side of the road with a gate. And every time we leave or come we have to
stop so the humans can open this gate, go through, then close the gate
again. Why don't they just go around it! Or better yet, why don't they just
keep it open? Or even better still, why is it even there? I'm tellin' ya I
do not understand the human race. Our last day here we went to the school
again, but this time mom took my harness off outside on their play ground
and I got to run with the kids. Actually I was lookin' for things to eat off
the ground more than I was playin' with the kids. But to be able to run
loose outside like that was nice. And it was a nice break since mom's had me
workin' a lot this week.
We sittin' in the airport now waitin' to go home. I think somethin' happened
bad though cuz mom was very upset, and instead of goin' through security
then gettin' on the plane, we went through security and we been sittin' for
a long time. I'll try and write more in this thing. My facebook page is
temporarily goin' through some changes, but I'll be postin' there again soon
as well. Until then, I want to thank all y'all for the birthday wishes. I'll
be expectin' my 9 treats in the mail shortly. O and whoever said I was 27,
wow what a complement. Thanks for that one. Actually I'm 63 now. Y'all be
good.

Trip to the mountain

Hi y'all,
I don't even remember the last time I posted here. But here I am again.
This time mom and I are in a place I never been before. I don't think mom
has either. Think she said it was called Arkansas.
We got on one of those plane things to get here and we've been here for
almost a week now.
The lady we visitin' lives on top of a mountain. I ain't kiddin' either we
drove up and up to get to it. The only real significant thing I've noticed
here, is the dogs are aloud to just run loose. I mean no leashes or fences
or nothin'! They do have collars, but they get to just rome the mountain.
Boy would that be sweet! I think mom should retire me here for that reason
alone and I'd live out my days bein' a mountain dog. The first two dogs I
met, I thought they were gunna kill me! The first dog, her name is Abby. She
came out of no where when I was tryin' to relieve myself. Hello! A little
busy here! She was all up in my grill and stuff! Leave me alone! I was nice
though, I tolerated her obnoctious behavior. Well then, here comes another
dog! These dogs are both german shepherds by the way. So as soon as the male
comes on the scene, his name was Archy, Abby goes nuts. I mean she starts
bad mouthin' me sayin' I better stay away from her brother or else or some
such nonsense. Well shoot I ain't puttin' up with that! I just endured her
uncalled for lack of boundaries. No respect at all! And now she has the
nerve to turn on me and give me that garbage. No way. Unbelievable! So I let
her have it! You picked the wrong dog to mess with fool! I don't care if you
are a huge shepherd who's more than twice my size. Well after that, this dog
literally would camp outside the door where we're staying waitin' for me.
Archy was cool. Shoot he didn't know what was goin' on.
Now as I write this, Abby Archy and I now get along pretty well. She still
has no respect for personal boundaries. And I thought Matilda was bad. O my
goodness. And they make fun of me sayin' I'm a city dog and I don't know
what bein' a real dog is. Whatever.
I met another dog named Bailey. She cool too. She looks a lot like me. She
shouted at me for comin' in her house though. Well excuse the nylabone out
of me! I've had a rough day with those two block headed shepherds, I don't
need your mouth too. Shoot dogs rude here!
The activities I been doin' the rest of the time have involved lots of kids.
Just yesterday for example, mom spoke to several groups of kids all about me
and what I do for her. Yeh that's right ma, appreciate what I do for you I
mean it. She was proud of me too. It was a long day for both of us. I think
we did probably four presentations. We of course went to church, o yeh there
we did another presentation so that's 5. After that many I was so tired of
all the attention! I got home and hid for over an hour! We went to the mall,
and out to eat a few times, those are normal things though. The coolest part
about doin' the presentations yesterday, the kids found out I like apples.
Shoot I got 3 apples in one day! I was lovin' that! I get a lot of apples
here. Emily, the lady we're stayin' with, she gives me apples a lot too.
Score for Reba!
If it weren't for the mountain dogs makin' fun of me for bein' a city dog I
might wanna live here. I don't know what else we be doin' this week, or even
when we be goin' home. I'll try and come back with another update soon.
Oh, and on a sad note, I had to say goodbye to a very good friend a few
weeks ago. Dasher, my friend and leader for these last 7 and a half years
left us just a couple weeks ago. He had cancer. I will miss him a lot. It's
just Winston and I holdin' down the fort, and I'm now officially alpha. I
only hope I can do half as well as Dasher did.
Y'all behave, o and by the way, tomorrow is national give presents to Reba
day. I'll be 9 this year and you know what that means? I get 9 of
everything. I want 9 carrots, 9 apples, 9 duckies, 9 ice cubes, and 9 of any
other food item you can give me! I mean it! Shoot!
Reba the dog.
P.S. Since mom's lame and couldn't get this to actually post when I wrote
it, it's 5 extra treats per day. So that means, 15 more treats please!
