Guess I better post again

Hey y'all,
Lots has happened since my last post, and that wasn't even that long ago. First I got sick. Think I got all stressed at the amount of people and dogs in this house. It got real small real quick. And then I was dealin' with stress bucket Winston who peed all over my April's floor. Shoot dude! Well, my mom cleaned all that up, and that's about when I started feelin' sick I think. It's like I had to go to the bathroom so bad, but when I went out, I couldn't go. This went on all night! The humans were gettin' tired of gettin' me out as fast as they could because I was in such distress. Mom took me to the vet the next day and they said I have a bladder infection. Whatever that means. Means I don't feel good that's all I know. So I have to take medicine now every day. It's helping too. I'm feelin better, but this stuff makes me tired.
A few days ago we went up to Tan curley's house. I of course left the truck at a dead run. Get me out of here I'm goin' to run free in these snowy woods. Winston decided to stick close to the humans and in so doing, got himself in a whole lot of trouble. That fool lost his head. Wouldn't listen to no one. I told him to come with me, but no, he decided to stay close. We ended up stayin' in the room our moms were staying in for most of the day. Too many people in the house for us to be runnin' loose. O my word there was this little cat there, shoot I wanted him so bad! Finally someone picked him up and showed him to me and after a few snifs I grabbed his head. I wanted to take him home. The humans weren't happy about that. But every time I came out of the room I looked for that kitten. I saw his mom a lot and she was so mad at me, we went back and forth. Me teasin', her gettin' madder and madder. Her name Bella. "Hey Bella, where your baby at? I want that baby!" Only other thing that happened up north was Winston got bit by tan curley. Shoot that made me mad. I didn't see it, I was off in the woods searchin' for doughnuts or somethin', but Dasher told me. Said Winston tried to come in and Tan curley just jumped up and bit him in the face. Excuse me! Uncalled for. Who he think he is anyways. Winston just took it too. Surprised he didn't wet himself. I'd of ignored it too, but I at least would of came inside anyway and plowed past tan curley. Shoot he got issues I mean it.
The next day after a romp in the snow we headed home. We stopped at that house where riley lives. Mom left me in the truck. Didn't even give me a chance. Didn't trust me at all. Winston got out and played the fool enough for both of us though. He got in to Riley's food, got himself sick, got in to the food again, then got himself tied to the back of the truck. Good goin' Winston. Me and Riley exchanged not so friendly words as always, and we were soon on our way again. Finally. Home at last! I wanna just sleep on my bed or in my crate for a while. All this company and travelin', I'm tryin' to recover here! No Winston, I don't wanna play! Leave me alone! Dude he everywhere today. I'm glad he all happy. Go play with the humans or somethin'. Let me sleep for a while. Be good everyone.

Lots goin' on

Hey everyone, well shoot! I wait a while to post and things start happenin' like crazy around here. I'll try and remember everythin'.
My april and Winston came a few days ago. Sweet! We got to play and catch up on stuff. What was funny though, Winston was all mad at my mom. I mean he wouldn't even look at her. I'm like dude what's your deal! He said he was mad cuz she took me away from him. Hello blond! I been away for a long time. I mean he been here twice while my mom and I been here why he just now gettin' all upset. I think it was kind of funny. He made up with her though. I'll share how in a minute.
So things have been pretty much nonstop since my April got home. On Friday, mom left me home and went somewhere. She came back smellin' like another house, other dogs, and cookies. Excuse me! Why couldn't I go! My april and winston went too with my Dasher dad. But they came back smellin' like stores. Hello! What place can I, as a service dog not go to? So it was just me and Dasher mom and Dasher at home. Well I was mad. Leave me at home. Shoot! So when Dasher mom went back in her room, I jumped on the couch. I ain't supposed to get up on the couch. I don't care! Shoot! Leave me home huh? Well, my april came home later and I ran to the door barkin' like I was gunna kill someone. Shoot I knew it was my April but I don't care, I was voicin' my penned up frustration hopin' mom was with her and was hearin' my fury. But no, it was just my April. She fed me and then we loaded in the truck. Good! Where my ma. I'm gunna let her have it. Ok so when I actually saw her all of that was forgotten in excitement that she was there and so no, I didn't really let her have it. But I wished later that I had stayed home again. Mom and our family, along with several other familys went to the zoo to see all these lights on trees. I been there before. It was nothin' new. It was however new to be there with a few other families, and to top it all off, my mom and my April were wearin' these hats that dance and play music. Obnoctious! Every time mom pushed hers I was tryin' to disappear in the lit up trees. Other than that though, I was good stayin' with our group. It was hard too cuz it was really crowded there. I only got distracted once when we happened upon a couple ducks. Ok random! What on earth are ducks doin' out at night like that, that close to a bunch of people, I mean the setting was totally off I mean it. I tried to get a closer look to ask them, but mom said leave it so I had to go on.
After that the humans went to this mad house to eat dinner. I mean it was loud. But I was safe under the table. All of that was just one day. I told you this was a busy time.
The next day the humans did that thing where they open presents to each other, the room gets quickly filled with empty boxes and paper. We got new toys too. I got a frog from my April, and a pheasant. Sweet! That's when Winston made up with mom. She got him a new rope toy and he has been her friend ever since. All is forgiven. Guess he can be bought. Mine would be food. Feed me and we're forever friends again.
On Sunday, we again helped with the little humans, I was fine till I saw them fighting over and passing a present that was wrapped up so much that it was hard to open. Like that party I went to and got my head almost sat on. If you saw on my facebook, I almost left the room. Seriously I was out of there. We went to see the elderly humans again too. Mom played her guitar and I layed like a good girl under the table. That was basically what we did that day.
Yesterday we started gettin' ready for company. Cleanin' the house, mom took my blanket out of my crate and put it in my Aprils room. That's where we're stayin' while the company is hear. It Roxie and her family. Cool! their little girl Elaina likes to walk around with food in her hand. Elaina, I know you don't really want that cracker. Look at the cute lab sittin' by you. And no Roxie, I don't wanna play.
Last night we went to church, but it wasn't for a service. It was for another christmas party. The humans ate, and played another game of openin' presents. Think mom got candy.
So anyways, lots and lots of happenin's around here lately. Only other thing I wanna tell you about is a sad story. All the Reba fans out there will be heartbroken for me I'm sure.
I was sleepin' all comfortable on my April's bed, when I accidentally leaked a little bit. Now I ain't done this in forever, and it really is an accident! But my April still, put me outside, cleaned it up, then wouldn't let me up on her bed again. I even waited till she was in bed, all settled before I got up quietly and padded over to ask nicely. She said no, go to your bed. My heart was broken. I have never been more hurt. So heartless. But, you know the life of a dog, this mornin' all was forgotten. I better go now, I've written enough and I wanna see what food Elaina's caryin' around now. Again, no Roxie, I do not wanna play. Y'all behave yourselves.
Reba the dog.

Holiday cheer? or holiday madness.

Hey everyone,
So it's of course that time of year, the time when the humans put up trees inside, cover them with lights and dangly things that I'm constantly wackin' off with my tail, strange wrapped packages under the tree, and My favorite part, extra food! Even though I don't get any, occasionally, my patience pays off. I'll explain.
My spot in this house, or one of them anyway, is right at the kitchen door. This spot allows me to watch everythin' that's bein' done in the kitchen. This involves food of all kinds. I sit patiently, sometimes lay down and wait patiently, watchin' curiously as my Dasher mom and sometimes my mom move about mixin', cuttin', and bakin'. The smells that eminate are to die for. You'd think this would be torture for any self respectin' lab and that I'd be far far away so as to not tempt myself. With my allergies I'm lucky to have any treats I suppose. But no, now I come to another reason I enjoy my spot at the kitchen door. Sometimes, the overwhelming smell of the food is like a magnet that just pulls me further and further in the kitchen. I keep a close eye on the humans as I first inch my paws on to the kitchen floor. From there, I stretch my neck in even further. Most of the time this doesn't offer any rewards because my Dasher mom is usually all the way across the kitchen' preparin' food. But at this time of the year, she's workin' closer to me because it's where she does the mixin'. So already, several times I've managed to snarf a tiny sample before Dasher mom notices just how far the magnetic force of her cookin' and bakin' has drawn me in. Shoot it ain't my falt! I can't help myself! Now give me some of that you're makin'. This is the season of givin' so hand it over. If I get my front paws in the kitchen, and stretch out my neck as far as I can, I can taste a few things though. A piece of dough flew off and landed on my head tonight and with a little shake, it fell and I got it. "Reba get out of here Miss nosiness! You know better!" Sure I do but I got a sample I got a sample. So again I say, this is totally the coolest place in the entire house other than my crate. My crate means lots of treats too. My dasher dad gave me two of my cookies tonight. Sweet!
Another part of this time of year is how much runnin' around the humans seem to do. Poor Dasher hates it. I can't even tell you the amount of times he's been stepped on recently. I keep tellin' him he needs to stay out of the way then. Find a spot and stay there and watch. But he can't sit still. So, suffer bein' stepped on then. Notice Reba hasn't been stepped on or tripped over. I know how to stay out of the way, but still make my presence known. Excuse me Dasher mom, give me a piece of that apple you're cuttin' up.
And it ain't just at home either. When we go out, the crowds are just everywhere, and it's all the same. Hussle bussle, decorations, and more lights wrapped around trees.
Today we went back to that store with all the guitars in it. Mom had to have new strings put on her guitar. Guess they ware out after a while. I laied quietly by her on the floor till someone started playin' a guitar plugged in to a box that made it a hundred times louder than normal. There goes Reba vibratin' on the floor again. Shoot! I stayed though, even if I did lift my head and shoot my most disgusted look in that direction.
Afterwards, mom and I had a challenge. We had to find my Dasher mom. So we walked out and mom said Reba left. So off we went. Mom started tellin' me, left Reba, find the door. So I looked and looked. I saw a door, and hesitated at it, but mom didn't pick up on my signal. Kind of my falt, I wasn't as sure myself. So we tried again. This time, I pulled her hard left at a door. We went inside, but it wasn't the place we needed. Mom still praised me up though for findin' the door and out we went. We turned around, and headed back to the first door I hesitated at. I got it this time, and within minutes, I found my Dasher mom too. O yeh! Go Reba! Now give me an apple.
Mom said somethin' about Winston comin' soon so I hope she right. Though I'll miss my stuffed toys if he do come. Mom puts them away when he comes. She better leave one out though I mean it. I gotta have one in my crate. Ok, I'll go for now, this entry's been a long one. I'm tired from beggin', I mean, observin' at the kitchen door today. Y'all be good, don't do anythin' I wouldn't do.
Reba the dog.

Long day out

Hi everyone,
Well, as my facebook said, today had too much in it to post in a status. So, I'm goin' in to detail here. We started out early this mornin'. Mom fed me and we left. For a long time mom and I stayed in the truck while my Dasher mom went in to stores returnin' things. Humans. Why buy it if you're gunna turn around and take it back? For somethin' to do? I don't get 'em. Anyway, we finally got out at the store that freeks Winston out. It was the store with all the fake animals. That store doesn't creep me out, but I always am fasinated by the little river inside the store. We go over a bridge in the store and it's real water underneath with real fish. So strange. So this store was crouded. I was afraid for my life several times. I was sure someone was gunna step on me I mean it. Luckily I got out of there with all my limbs in tact, includin' my tail. The rest of our day was spent goin' from store to store, returnin' this and that, I was followin' my Dasher mom all over everywhere. She fast too my goodness! I have a hard enough time followin' people, but her, Shoot I lose her more often than anyone else. They went in clothing stores, a grocery store, a guitar store, thank goodness I ain't afraid of those anymore cuz that would have been just mean to drag me in to a store like that. We went to a book store, and finally, we ended the evenin' with a ride on this cart pulled by a horse. That was cool! I mean, I've ridden on and in a lot of things in my career as a leaderdog, but never somethin' like this. I was fasinated for the second time today. Mom helped me up inside, and her and my Dasher mom shared a bench, while I got my own across from them. There were blankets on the cart too. Well for almost the whole ride I sat up watchin'. A man was holdin' these rope lookin' things, and they were connected somehow to something in the horses mouth. And the horse was wearin' a type of harness too that hooked him to our cart. Here's the cool part, the man was givin' him a few of the same commands mom gives me. Things like left and right. I wondered if the man was blind too and the horse was doin' the same job I do, but no, the man could see just fine. He directed the horse around things, stopped for traffic, all that. The horse told me he just pulled the carriage, the man gave him all the comands. Wow! So I'm a working dog, guess that horse was a workin' horse.
After that, we finally came home and I was glad to be here. It had been a long day. But I must say I rather enjoyed myself.
Other things we been doin' lately is goin' to parties, I went to one and thought I was gunna get squashed. The girls were screamin' and tumblin' all over, tryin' to open a present. I just watched like what on earth! It ended up bein' chocolate. Man and I thought I went crazy over food.
I been back to that place where mom goes to help with the older humans. I was more friendly this time. Mom let's me be petted there while my harness is on as long as I behave. Well I was more social this time, I wagged my tail a lot and got a lot of smiles out of them. I know I know, Reba ain't normally social with humans, but I do make acceptions now and then.
My dasher mom got me a new christmas bandanna. Cool! I love dressin' up! Mom put it on me and I danced all around with it on.
Well, think I'll go for now, I'll be back if anythin' else interestin' comes up. Y'all be good, I hear Santa Paws is watchin' for who's good and who's not. And boy am I ever bein' good!

somethin' funny I forgot

Hey y'all,
So I forgot to tell this funny story that my mom had not a clue about till just today I think. So last week, I've told you all we been helpin' out with the little humans on Sunday mornin's now. Well I'm usually layin' in a corner somewhere, tryin' in vain to sleep and hopin' I won't get mobbed. Well last week, Brother Mike comes over to sit by me and he got a muffin in his hand. Well I didn't pay it much mind, till he offered me a piece. Well what's any self respectin' lab to do! Course I took it. And I sat up to beg for more. Brother mike, I'm still right here. Mom noticed me up by then. She was on the other side of the room. I heard her snap her fingers and whisper sharply, Reba down. No ma I'm busy with brother Mike here. Again she hisses at me, a bit louder this time. Reba! Down! Again ma, no. Well she came over then and made me go down. Shoot! No more muffin! It was our little secret too until Felicia told my mom the story today. Brother Mike and I shared a look and I just roled my eyes. Man! That was the end of that. I had visions of sittin' by brother Mike every week, waitin' for a piece of muffin that he'd bring every week, takin' it so quietly that mom wouldn't notice. Come on ma! It didn't give me any ear infections! Why can't I have the muffin! I was good this week though. Didn't beg for nothin', just stayed where mom put me, and when she came back, I thumped my tail askin' for her approval. Did I do good ma? Was I good? O cool! Now where brother Mike go maybe he got another muffin today.
That's all I wanted to put. Short and sweet post today.
Reba the dog.

Guess I should update here

Wow! Since gettin' facebook I haven't been bloggin' quite as much. But I figured I better send one out, and sort of elaborate on some of the happenin's around here. This is funny because there really ain't much happenin' around here. The humans been puttin' up more and more christmas stuff. This time of the year always did puzzle me. Trees inside with lights on them, the humans fussin' at me for nockin' the stuff off the tree with my tail. Excuse me! Don't put it up then if you don't want my tail nockin' them off. I'm a lab people! The tail's gunna wag and I can't and won't control how hard it wacks somethin'. Lights outside, I watched my Dasher dad and my mom put lights up around the house. They look cool, but I again ask myself, why? Seems weird that Winston just came and left like that. Usually he stay for longer. But maybe not. I don't know. Roles are reversed. Mom and I used to come home for visits, now it's my April and Winston.
I haven't been able to do too much work this week. Just bummin' around. Lovin' my bed. I curl up for hours on that thing. When I can find it that is. It keeps gettin' moved in the decoratin'.
For those of you who follow me on facebook, a lot of this is repeat I know, but I'm elaboratin' anyways for the benefit of those who don't have facebook.
Oo sweet! my Dasher mom just gave me an apple. Score for Reba.
So the other day I was outside, enjoyin' nature, havin' a grand old time when mom opens the door and says those lovely words, Reba, come. Well I looked at her and looked away. No, I thought. I ain't ready to come in yet. I mean hello! I jump on the door when I want in and sometimes you still ignore me so I'm gunna ignore you. I went on sniffin'. She calls me again. Again mma, I ain't comin'. So what does she do, she sends out reinforcements. Here come the 20 pound police of this house, Dasher. She told him, get Reba. So he comes out just yellin' at me, tellin' me I better get inside or else! Part of me wonders what that or else mean, I mean he only 20 pounds. But, I respect him too much to find out. So, in I went. But I laughed about it cuz mom had to use another dog to get me inside.
So I guess that's about it on this front. Mom got her guitar out today to play it. Haven't seen her do that in a long time. I got so excited I almost forgot myself and came dancin' in the kitchen with my toy. What'd she have to play it in there for. Anyway, I'll be around on facebook, and I'll be back to update this thing later. Hope y'all bein' good. This time of year is good for presents and surprises so I know I'm on my best behavior.
