What was with Winston?

Hey everybody. Reba here again. I'm here to tell you about my frustrating day on Saturday. It was supposed to be a relaxed day down town with friends. But it started off with Winston in the worst mood I've ever seen him in. I mean it! He was yellin' at himself, wouldn't listen to my April, and then, he kept blowin' curbs and stuff! I finally sat down in front of him and gave him the old what-for I mean it. Embarrassing! We spozed to be an example to Matilda cuz she be the youngest, and he all pullin' a stunt like that. I didn't even wanna be seen with him! Then, there were these pidgins flyin' around, Matilda and I wanted them bad. I'm a huntin' dog mom! It's in my blood! Don't correct me for who I be deep down! I'm just keepin' it real girl! Man. Plus, what if they were edible! She corrected me anyways. Matilda had to do obedience right there in the middle of everything. The rest of the day was spent like that, us walkin' around, the humans doing what they always do, eat. We went across this bridge that moved, ok that was weird. Freeked my mom out and we ran across it. Then we had to go back over it. Humans are dumb! What'd we go on it to begin with for. Anyway. All the humans sat on this big swing while we dogs layed down and watched people go by. Well, the other two watched, I glared. What are you lookin' at? Ya you just keep goin'. Don't you look at me! Yes, we're dogs! Glad you know your animals. Go! Quit lookin' at us we workin' here. Then the most random thing of all, this complete stranger took our picture! I looked at him like he had two heads. What in the world! Who he anyway? Then we went to another place for the humans to eat again. We sat outside for a while, and my Rachel and my Karen got on their computers. So I'm layin' there, mindin' my own, when all the sudden I hear Winston bark. I'm like woe! What's up with him? I whip around and he barkin' at a dog comin' at us. I'm like Winston! What's your problem dood! I'm tellin' ya he wasn't right on Saturday. I'm usually the one who gets all upset at other dogs. I look over at Matilda and she shakin'. O my goodness! Anyway! Somethin' wrong with her I mean it. Shoot the other dog was smaller than her. I put my head down and sighed. I can't deal with the both of them. So I let the humans do it. But I got a pet on the head from mom for ignoring the dog. That was cool. After the humans ate we went back to the car where us dogs finally got to eat too. Thank goodness. Then we went to the pet store and mom got me a cool turtle toy! I like it a lot. The other two dogs got toys too. We looked at the cats in the cages. I wanted them so bad! Man I just wanna play with the cats! Why they gotta be all hissin' and stuff. O well. That was our day. Sunday was the same as always. Accept Matilda tried to snuggle up with me during vespers. I'm like hello! I don't snuggle! Accept with my mom and maybe a few others, but I start it. Get away from me pup! I think that's all I have to report for now all. Behave yourselves, I'm goin' away for now.

I will get that monkey!

Hi again folks,
well, life's been not so eventful since my day of working so much. Mom's been goin' to work, and comin' home. That's about it. Yesterday was odd. Everyone kept giving presents to Matilda. I don't know what was up with that. I want toys too! They kept saying things like Happy birthday or somethin'. What's that mean? Matti's like, um, it means national give toys to Matilda day of course. Whatever. Who's she to get a bunch of toys while I get none. I worked harder then her on Saturday I mean it. One of her toys, shoot it ain't even gunna last 2 days. Believe me! I've seen her with toys and she just like me. When I was her age, I destroyed every toy that wasn't made of solid rubber and even I could chew pieces off of solid rubber. That's how Mattie is. So anyway, one of the toys she got was this stuffed monkey. I still want that monkey by the way, and I bet he be destroyed by now I mean it. Emily gave it to her, and I saw it in my Emily car and when my mom went back upstairs for something, I pretended I was all nervous, and then when I thought Emily wasn't lookin' I snatched that monkey. If the thing wouldn't have squeaked I'd of succeeded. Man! But My Emily saw me and took it away. So I sulked all the way over to campus cuz I knew Mattie was gunna destroy it. So at campus, I had hope again because I thought, well, what if I take it while Mattie's getin' all these other toys. She got like five of them! She ain't gunna miss one monkey! But o no! She kept her eye on that monkey and I couldn't get it. I will get it though. I mean it. I'm smarter than her, and if I can get a bone I want from Winston, I can surely get that monkey from Mattie. So I went home disappointed, wonderin' when my so called birthday is, and if I'll get a monkey cuz if not, and if Matilda's is still around, I'll take it I mean it. So then tonight, I freeked my mom completely out. We were walkin' home and I saw somethin' in the trees, so I lunged for it with a snarl and mom jumped, came to a dead stop, and even let out a little yelp. I had to laugh it was so funny. All I saw was a cat. O well. Mom's sittin' outside on her porch and I am too. We're watchin' the moon. Or as Winston calls it, the big ball in the sky. He precious. Too precious for this earth. It's huge tonight. If I were less safisticated, I'd howl at it. But well, that kind of behavior is below me. I think my mom is tired or somethin'. She ain't herself. She been extra quiet all day. She didn't even mess with me like she normally does. I better go put my head in her lap and try and figure out what's wrong. I been askin' for a few days now, checkin' on her often, tryin' to climb up on her bed, tryin' to climb up in her chair with her, I always get the same response. "What Reba? Hi baby, no, you can't come up here, mama has to go to work, or get ready for work," or somethin' like that. I'm always here for her though. Always near by when she needs me. Well, again, any of you out there let it slip that Reba is sentamental or sweet, I'll beat the bunch of ya up I mean it. Y'all behave. Be back atcha soon.

Work, work, work!

Hey everybody,
Reba here again. So I'm not really sure why my last post had blanks between each line. My mom really don't even know what she doin' on that computer of hers. Anyway, I'm back with another post.
Mom worked me hard today. I mean, we been on our feet all day today. First, my mom took me to this festival thing. Cuz she seems to like going to those with friends and eating food. I'm tellin' ya, I don't know why she don't just eat at home. O well. So this place was litterally out in the middle of nowhere. I mean I'm lookin' out the window and all I see is cows and fields and mountains and stuff. I'm like where we be goin'? And when we got there, the place was really crouded. Kids were runnin' everywhere pettin' me left and right. Where are the parents? Hello! I'm tryin' to work here! Anyway! So there were dogs all over this festival. I think mom called it a pumpkin festival. Ok I literally saw two little excuses for dogs ridin' around in a kids stroler! Made me wanna laugh myself silly! They're all barkin' at me like they want a piece or somethin'. I'm like bring it! Y'all's feet probably ain't never even touched the ground I mean it. Goodness! So I led mom around and around through huge crouds of people while she looked at crafts and stuff. there was cool music playin' too. I love music. I must have done good cuz mom praised me a lot. We didn't stay there too long which was good. And I was not too distracted with all the other dogs. There was even a horse there. I wasn't too sure about him. O well. He didn't bother me or my mom.
So after that, we went shopping. Mom took me down the isle with all the talking moving things. I think those are dumb till mom pulled out this bowl with a hand stickin' up out of it. She puts it on the floor and tries to get me to put my nose in it. Well, I do and the hand attacks me! I'm like woe! What was that for! Mom's all laughing like it's some funny joke. It ain't funny mom I mean it. So then she proceeds to continue to try and get me to put my nose in the bowl, the whole time that hand is tryin' to grab whatever it can! Unbelievable! I ain't stupid! I kept backing up and backing up while mom followed me with the bowl! Good grief! Finally she put it away. Anyway. So after that store, we went to the pet store. There were dogs everywhere today. And mom got out the dreaded gentle leader after a while. Man! I was tryin' to be good! O well. I wanted all the cats in the cages. I cried and cried tryin' to get them so bad while mom made me sit and leave them. Why do cat's gotta be so tormentin'? After greeting a few dogs, and being nice to them too I'll add, we met up with my April, winston, Rachel, and, o ya, Matilda. A few other of our friends came too, and they ate food, again. And as if that wasn't enough, we went to another store where we spent a long time walking around, buying this and that, including a dog toy. I hope it's for me. Mom did get me a new bone. That's cool. I was even a really good girl and found the restroom for mom, and then found Winston and my April afterwards. They kept shopping, and mom and I caught up with them. I was so proud of myself for findin' Winston, cuz mom said find Winston, and I did!
We finally came home and mom fed me, gave me water, took me out to park and I felt better. I slept pretty much the rest of the evening. Accept later Winston wanted to play so I played with him and we also went outside to run. That was cool. So that was my extremely busy day y'all. I'm exhausted writing it all out again. I ain't worked like that since trainin' I don't think. It was great though. Mom was so proud of me, and I heard her braggin' about me to her friends. I love it when mom's proud of me. Well, my crate is calling me. My April shut it up with my new bone in it cuz Winston kept grabbin' it from me and when I'd try and get it back, he'd growl at me. Man Winston, what a grouch. Chill out dood! Anyway. So you all be good, and I'll hopefully update you all on another adventure soon. Y'all be good I mean it.

the vet? again?

Well, I know, I just posted last night, but I went to the vet today and it bares repeating. First it bares repeating

because I seem to be living at the vet lately. I don't mind though. The vet is full of neat smells and there's

always other dogs in there or coming through the door, and there's that cat that I'm gunna get one day. If I can

figure out how to get away from mom, I'll be able to corner that cat and maybe it'll play with me or something.

There was another cat in the vet today, but I only want that gray and white cat who taunts me every time I have gone

in there. The visit was annoying. The people took me and cleaned my ears. Hello! My mom can do that. I want my mom

or my April to do that. Then they filled them with that gunk again. What in the world! It just was starting to clear

up and they fill it up again. Anyway. They gave mom another bottle of stuff for me too. Guess it's more pills for

me. Man when ya get older it's nothing but pills I mean it. They were good though. I sat pretty while mom opened the

bottle to give me one. I even took it gently when mom said gentle. That pup Roxie was there too. She's my mom's

aunt's dog. She's a wild little thing, but she cool. She said that cat bugged her too. She wanted to play with him

and even after she yelled at him he wouldn't play. Well, we left the vet, got home, and mom apparently forgot to

take my gentle leader off. That's what she said anyway. I don't believe her though. She put it on when I was in the

vet so I wouldn't pull. I still did though. O well. So she fed me breakfast, and left my gentle leader on my face.

The injustice of it all! It's bad enough I have to eat my food out of a bowl that has sections in it so it's hard to

begin with, then she left this thing on my face. She appologized profusely when she discovered it, and I forgive

her, but part of me don't even believe her. She did it on purpose. O well. I got the food in me so it's all good.

Now I'm lyin' here, chewen' on my nylabone. Life is good. I wonder when I'll be back at the vet again. I think I'm

finally gettin' out of the woods. My ears feel a lot better. I don't shake my head anymore, and I saw mom throw away

the bottle of stuff they keep puttin' in my eyes. That's good cuz that was super annoying. I think the weekend is

coming again cuz mom's getting excited. Mom always get's excited when it's the weekend. Well I'm ramblin' now. I'll

go away and chew my bone some more. You all be good now.

happenings

Hi again all. So on Saturday, we went out to work, that is me and my mom, Winston and my April, my Karen, and a couple other girls that are their friends. Well, you guessed it, they went to this place just full of people everywhere and we had to guide them through. I love the challenge. What I don't like are all the people staring at me and all the kids wanting to pet me. Get away! I'm tryin' to work here! So I was good guiding mom all through, I think it's called a mall. Anyway they went in several stores, bought a few things and I stared around at everything just wondering why on earth humans need so much stuff. After that they went to this place to buy food. It smelled amazing in there and I saw a bowl of dog biscuits up on the counter. Mom made me lie down and ordered her food, and didn't even bring me one of those yummy looking treats. Winston saw them too and he said it was probably cuz I was alergic to them. I don't care! I'll take the infection! I already got antibiotics all in my ears! Give me food! Ah well. Maybe next time. And I was so good too. So then they left the mall and fed Winston and me and I was so happy. We piled back in my Karen car and went to another eating establishment for the humans to eat. While they ate and laughed and carried on as always, I tried to sleep. But an annoying fly kept getting in my face. I just laid there quietly. "Ignore the fly." I kept saying over and over again. But finally, I had it! I popped up and snapped at the fly. "Leave me alone!" I said loudly which made Winston Jump. Now that was funny. There he go. I missed the fly though. Man. Well, it did go away at least. So that was our day. Winston got a bath, I just got a long brushing. Mom got so much hair out of me I'm surprised I ain't bald. The rest of the week has just been mom goin' to work and I go with her and sleep. I keep getting medicine, and drops in my eyes and last night we went for a long walk outside with a bunch of my mom's friends. That always makes my mom happy to be with her friends. I wish she could be with them more. Well, hope you all are doin' good. I'll be back soon to bug you all.

I want that cat!

Welcome to October folks. It's finally cooling down out there. Good thing cuz I'm black and tired of the heat. Mom took me to the vet again today. This time they put a bunch of stuff in my ear. It feels all grose now. But I think it'll help my ears feel better. There was this cat in the vet. I wanted it so bad! Mom kept correcting me and telling me to leave it, but I'm like "No!" And I cried and once tried to jump up on the counter to get the cat. Then we went and sat down and mom put my gentle leader on. Man! I hate that thing! And I wanted the cat! The cat came over feet from me and mom made me sit and stay and leave it! The cat was nice enough, but there was no reason for it to taunt me like that. Cats are such instigaters. They think they're all that cuz they can go anywhere and do anything they want while us dogs are on leashes. Whatever. Anyway. The vet visit wasn't long. Mom's stressed cuz I am costing her a lot of money. Sorry mom! I can't help it I mean it. Mom and I went on a long walk yesterday. It was a lot of fun and I did a good job taking mom where she wanted to go. She told me she was proud of me. And my mom filled my food bin which made me quite happy. At first I thought she was gunna let me eat all of it, then she put the lid on and put it away. Man! Hou'em I sposed to eat it in there? Ah well. Guess I'll just starve. Y'all take care of yourselves.
