I'm sick and mad!

Hey everyone. So the title of this says it all, but I'll elaborate. I woke up feelin' sick this mornin' but figured eatin' breakfast would help. I almost got sick as mom was fixin' my breakfast. Big mistake. Mom got all concerned and tried to take me away to go get sick or somethin'! No Ma! I'm hungry I want my food! So she let me go and I flew to the bowl. Well, it wasn't long before I knew that was a mistake because eatin' didn't help me. I felt more and more sick by the minute. I got mom to take me out cuz I really had to go. That wasn't easy cuz she had already taken me out and she was confused at my distress. Well, I came back in, laid around for a bit more prayin' for this stomach ache to go away. No such luck. Next thing I knew, I was gettin' sick. Mom panicked and tried to get me to a place where I could lose it with the least clean up, but, I'm sorry ma! I just couldn't make it! She tried to get me outside and I lost it on the floor in the hall way just outside our apartment. I knew mom was upset too cuz I saw the horified look on her face at my huge mess. I'm sorry ma! I really am! Shoot I feel aweful! And that was my breakfast! So, I watched pitifully while mom cleaned up my mess, but mid way through I had her take me out again so I could get sick more. Finally things calmed down for me. I went to sleep and mom had a bunch of people over for the afternoon. Later she took me out, and when I came back in, the horrible feelin' started again! And, yep, I got sick 4 more times! But all this is leadin' up to why I'm mad, no furious! I come back in from bein' outside, and I hear the goose go off. Well sweet! Finally it's time to eat again. I have nothin' in me, I want food! Mom should give me the cup I lost too! No. The fool would not even feed me! My Winston got his food, Matilda got milk bones, I don't know what was up with that, but I got nothin'! I even sat pretty by my bowl patiently, and I asked nicely from both mom and my April! Shoot what in the world! Where's my Karen! She'd at least give me an apple. I know an apple would help me. I'm all upset. I spent the rest of the night sulkin'. My stomach was makin' all kinds of weird noises later, and mom tried to make me feel better. She's so nice to me when I get sick, but ma I just want food! Some of my mom's friends from when she was in school came to visit her tonight. They had a little baby. He was cute. Come here baby. My tail was waggin' right off when I saw that little baby. Well, I guess I'm goin' to bed hungry tonight. We better not be goin' on one of those planes tomorrow. That's usually why mom won't feed me. I didn't see any suit cases though. I better get food in the mornin'. Right now I'm goin' to bed a very hungry and dejected lab. Man I get sick and get punished by havin' my food kept from me. Mom says it's for my own good because I'm sick and I'll just lose it. Shoot she don't know that! I'm too weak to write anymore. I'll go waste away in my crate now. If I don't respond for a while it's cuz I starved to death. Mom's tellin' me to quit bein' dramatic. Whatever she more dramatic than me I mean it. Night all, wonder if mom will even give me my cookie tonight. She better I mean it.

Gullible Golden

Ok all, so you know how I view my good buddy Winston. He just precious. Well, this story should tell you just how precious he be bless 'im.
So a while ago, I told Winston that if human food fell on the ground, it was ok to eat it. I mean, come on! The average human ain't gunna eat somethin' they've dropped on the ground, what a waste I say. Humans waste so much food. But that's another post. So, I know that as service dogs, we ain't supposed to eat people food, and yes I remember the many food torture exercises my trainers put me through in training. Good grief. Offerin' me food then yankin' my neck if I went for it. What's any self respecting lab to do if someone shuvs a sausage in her face. But I decided to have a little fun with the precious Winston. So, I told him that it was ok to eat it off the floor. This is where it gets funny. He tried it with my April! Course he got himself popped for it and came to me all upset about it yesterday. "Reba, you said that I, oish, I wouldn't get in trouble for eating people food off the ground and you, you lied to me! Oish, I got punished sorely! And I had to punish myself too! Bad Winston!" Well, after about laughing myself senseless, Sorry Winston but it really was funny, I finally managed to say between laughs, "O woops, I forgot to tell ya not to try this with my April. Shoot Winston you live with her you should know better! Any other human you could have done it with." Sigh. Like I said, never a dull moment with the gullible golden around. Winston said he'd think twice about believing what I told him from now on, but, he won't. He always believe me. I just thought you all would enjoy that story. Not much else goin' on so I'll post later. Y'all behave you hear?

Bout time!

Man! I thought my mom would never let me post again! Well, now she has to pay the consiquences cuz I got a lot to say. Starting with my most recent contraversy, is he a dog or bear. I think I'm finally convinced he's a dog. I finally met him a few weeks ago. We went in for my mom's Bible study, and all the sudden y'all, all I saw was white comin' at me! Shoot my whole life flashed before my eyes! I'm like, ah! That's it! The end of the line for Reba! Winston you can have all my toys, Matilda, whatever he doesn't want you can have I guess, ma, I'm goin' to the rainbow bridge, good luck findin' another dog to lead you around as good as I do! I thought all this till finally I realized the white thing had stopped and was sniffing me. Turns out his name is cody, and he laughed at me when I asked if he was a dog or bear. Just laughed. Then his mom took him away. O I better not get wind that my readers are calling me a scairdy cat either. I'll come beat the lot of ya up I mean it. I was only, only tryin' to protect my mom from the giant white animal named Cody. I saw him again earlier this week, and this time we talked for longer. He really is a nice animal. I've decided to call him that. Though like I said, I'm almost sure he a dog now. Only thing was, there was another dog there visiting named Louie. He was so rude! Mom kept tellin' me to be nice to him, but he was so obnoctious I finally yelled at him to shut up and he finally got the hint. Shoot I mean it leave me alone!
Next topic, Mom says I got new readers, so here's a welcome to y'all, thanks for reading.
Mom's been keepin' me real busy this week. We been goin' pretty much non stop every day. So I've been a good girl for her. And wanna know how she repays me? O the injustice! She about leaves me at Pizza hut! I ain't lyin'! This ain't one of those, Reba exajoratin' stories, this is for real! We get up to leave right, mom tells me to get up, so I do, then she gets up, and walks off. Just leaves me there right at the table. Guess she thought she had my leash around her arm, but she didn't. I think I even heard her say Reba heel. Heel what? The table? Ok sure ma. The counter was only around the corner, and I hear her gettin' ready to pay. Then I hear her say, "Where's my dog"? O my goodness! Y'all, my ma is so blond sometimes I mean it! My Karen came back around and picked up my leash and brought me to my mom. No ma, don't appologize to me! I'm mad at you now! Shoot! The stuff I put up with I tell ya. Well, I think that's it for now. I'm tired from my long day. After being almost left at Pizza hut, we went shopping at a few places, one being petco where mom wouldn't even let me sniff around and explore. Stupid humans. She did give me a bath today and between that and the rain we've been havin' for four days straight, I don't think I'll ever be dry again. Y'all behave, I'll be back sooner than later this time.

I don't get people

Hey there all,
Well, the last three days I been more busy than ever. Shoot I'm ready to go back to my mom's old job I mean it! Least there I could just lay there and sleep in the quiet all day. O no. Mom's got me out and about doin' some crazy stuff.
On Tuesday we did something that I been through before. It was four years ago and it was a nightmare. Bob jones goes crazy! I mean, screamin', yellin', even paintin' themselves different colors, puttin' stuff over the lights to make 'em look funny, lots of loud noises, and crouds! O my goodness the crouds! The first time I went through this I was a much younger dog and it freeked me out! Well this time, I did my best to just lay there and ignore everything and everyone while Winston and Matilda tried to do the same. They did better than I did my first time. I was glad that was over. There was even fireworks at the end of the day. Shoot those things kind of freek me out. It's like fire's fallin' from the sky! Matilda shook like a leaf through that. I gotta hand it to her though, she stayed laying down and didn't try and bolt. I must admit, my first experience with fireworks, I tried to bolt. Mom had to hold on to me really tightly.
Then yesterday, mom gets up early again, we leave and hed to this place a long drive away, but mom rode with total strangers! I'm like dood are these people kidnapping my mom? Who are these people anyways. A few I remembered, but it was so random! We went to a meeting, that was cool cuz I got to lay next to Fellow. He's a black lab also, and he's from guiding eyes. So we got to know each other. We compared training and had a great time. He huge! I mean I think he bigger than Winston. After that the humans wanted to go eat again so we guided them out to a restaurant. There were other blind people in our group with canes, and some sighted people that helped them all. After the humans ate, and we dogs got some water, we went back and mom and the others began going around looking at things on tables. Well I wasn't interested in that. I smelled dogs in that room, and couldn't see any of them. So my mission became to find them. I did see two right out in the open, I don't know why they were there, they weren't dog guides cuz they weren't in harness and they weren't the right breeds. I wanted to say hi, but mom cracked me though. Shoot ma! You're over there sayin' hi to people, why can't I! I saw a few other service dogs, one came out from under a table. I'm like shoot where she come from! From then on I was tryin' to look under the tables for more dogs! Mom praised me for bein' good though cuz though I got excited, I listened to mom really well. We left there and when we dropped off some of the people in our group, that's when I decided enough is enough, I wanna be a butt head! I been a good girl, and in harness so much in the last two days. And I'm starving because it's after 5 and mom ain't fed me yet. So I got all excited and pulled so my leash rubbed hard against mom's sunburnt arm. Oo that made her mad. I don't know what sun burns are, but my mom's skin is darker, and hot, and I can tell it hurts her. Well, I didn't think of that, All I knew was, shoot I'm hungry, I'm tired of being a good dog, I'm out in the woods, I wanna sniff and I'm gunna be a butt head! Mom cracked me really hard and told me to straighten up. Shoot ma! Well we finally got back and mom finally fed me after which I calmed down considerably. We went to Bible study, and there he was again, the mysterious giant white dog or bear or whatever he be. He cries and barks like a dog, smells like a dog, but I still am not sure and no one will let us close enough for me to find out for sure. Come on ma! Just once! I'll never ask or cry when I see him again! Mom and I are both exhausted. For once mom didn't get up before it got light today. Could it be she's takin' it easy today? Well, I better get outa here. This has been a long entry. Hope you all are bein' good.

dog? or bear.

Hey there everybody.
I know I ain't written in a while, but well, not much to report. Mom's been workin' me some every day though. I still don't understand why she ain' back at her work. But she's lookin' for something else. Good thing I got job security.
Ok so for the last two weeks, mom has been goin' to a Bible study. Course she brings me along. Well, we go to different houses which is cool for me cuz of new smells and stuff. Accept every time we go in to a house, mom either puts on my gentle leader, or my high buckle collar. Come on mom! Aren't we passed all that? Well I've come to know that the high buckle only goes on when other dogs are goin' to be near me. So when mom put it on 2 weeks ago, I was ready. We get out of the car, mom puts my harness on and we start for this house. Keep in mind it was the biggest house I have ever seen. I'm for real! Well then I heard it. It was a bark, but a pretty big bark. I'm like dood! Where's this dog. I want it! We go inside, and I'm imediatly scannin' around for it. My ears are up, I'm tense, ready to go. Then I saw something. Y'all, I ain't lyin' it was the biggest dog I have ever seen in my 7 years of existence! I still don't know if it was dog or bear. I saw him through a window. He was outside just staring at me. I went for him, then stopped, then took mom around to where the other girls were. But I kept lookin' at him. I was fasinated. He was scratchin' and barkin' to get in. So now I was faced with a decision. What am I gunna do if they let that thing in here. I mean he can probably fit me in his mouth! First I gotta determine if he's dog or bear. He was white, and absolutely huge! He looked bigger than Hercules! He was a saint bernard who used to live next door back home. So anyway, the humans kept talkin' totally oblivious to the fact that there was a bear scratchin' at the door! So I started thinkin' some more. I can't stand up to him, First mom would pop me. But I don't want him near my mom. Suddenly someone went out another door, I watched them take the dog, or bear, or whatever he was inside. But they went in a different way. I never saw him again. I heard him though. He was still scratchin' to get out to us from somewhere in that huge house. I smelled a dog in the house, so he must have really been a dog. But I still ain't entirely sure. I saw him through the glass again this week too. He wasn't as determined to get at us this time. I cried at mom this time. Please mom! Let me go see if he's a dog or bear at least! My goodness! She wouldn't though. Made me lay on the floor in harness the whole time and everything. So some day I'm gunna find out if he dog or bear I mean it. For now I'm gunna go sleep. I have an ear infection and it's raining and I wanna sleep. And I don't wanna hear from anyone out there that that's all Reba does is sleep. Shoot when you're 7 years old, you can pretty well do whatever you please. Y'all behave yourselves.

The injustice of it all!

Well all, This just may top all.Today, mom and I were over on campus and I was hangin' out in my April's room. Well, she fed both Winston and me dinner. As I was happily eatin' my food, I thought. Hmmmmmmmm. Now would be the perfect opportunity to try and get some extra food. Shoot. Mom don't know I'm eatin' right now. If I can just convince her of that, score! Extra cup and a half of food for Reba! So, my April took me next door where mom was, and I started beggin' and dancin' by mom. She began packin' up her stuff, and sayin' goodbye to my April and my Rachel, and a few others. Then mom goes next door. I happily danced behind her. It's gunna work! I thought excitedly. Oo she goin' for the food bin! She scoopin' out the food! By now I began jumpin' around the room. Could barely contain myself at how clever I had been. Mom was almost to the bowl when, "O she's been fed. Your sister fed her." Awe! man! Shoot! Unbelievable! Shoot My April's roomate betrayed me! I watched totally crest fallen as mom went back over, and dumped the food back in the bin. Then she turns to me and says, You little glutton! O as if it's my falt. Shoot you the one who was just gunna feed me again. Man I was so upset. I still am. Well, there will be other opportunities, and what does a lab do? She picks herself up, dusts herself off and keeps trying. Hope springs eternal. Least I've done amazing work for mom two days in a roe. She better be happy. Shoot today, I stopped at a whole bunch of places we had been too just to see if that's what mom wanted. How's that for patternin' mom. You all behave yourselves. I'm off for now.

Cats!

Ok before I even start this I have to appologize publically to my mom. I did the unthinkable in harness tonight, Mom I'm sorry! I didn't mean too I really didn't! I know I should have given you more wornin' but, well it came all the sudden! Ok I'll admit it to my readers. I went in harness. Yes, inside, in front of a whole bunch of people. Mom was so ashamed of me, And I don't blame her. We walked by it later and they had a wet floor sign up. Sure, mom and I aren't embarrassed enough, let's put up a big sign up to draw even more attention to it. Shoot I messed that up big time. She told me she still loved me but that was a very bad thing to do. So mom, I know, and I'm sorry!
Ok. now on to the real post. Mom and I went to a Bible study tonight at a house I've never been too. So of course I was excited. But, I did mom proud, I was calm, and didn't fight too much when she put the gentle leader on. As a result, she took it off shortly in to the visit. Well, all the sudden, there it was. out of the corner of my eye, I spotted movement. Sure enough, it was a cat. Now, you all know my love for cats. I want to play with them, but they frustrate me to no end! Cats see a dog on leash and they think, O boy time to have a whole bunch of fun. Torture. Pure torture. So one of the girls picks up the cat and brings it closer to me for a good look and sniff. This cat was cool too. Didn't even hiss or nothin'. So I sniffed and the girl put the cat down. Big mistake. Now the games began. The cat spent the next half hour or so, comin' closer to me, then going away, once walking right in front of my face! Now here's me, tryin' so hard to be a good girl for mom. I mean, I was horrible to wet in Harness so I'm tryin' real hard to get back in good with mom here. So I'm layin' there, my whole body literally quiverin' with the effort of not wining or sitting up to try and go after this cat. Absolute torture. Had me quite exhausted when it was over. The girl finally put the cat away somewhere, but I looked for it the rest of the night. Why cat's gotta be like that? Shoot I just wanna play with them I mean it! Well, I better end this cuz I'm tired and I wanna go to my crate and sleep. Hope all my readers are doin' well. O and Matilda, girl if I catch you one more time just layin' there cluelessly while your mom drops food around you, I'll beat you up. Why can't my mom be a clutz like that.
