I'm gettin' too old to understand these humans.

Bein' at school's dangerous y'all. I can't even tell you how many times in these few weeks I've been stepped on, nudged, and bumped. Then mom fusses at me if I pop up afterwards. Here ma, how bout you lay on the floor and we'll see what your response is when someone stepps on your head. I'm tellin' you, life as a service dog can get downright dangerous at times. I took mom in the gym the other day to pick up the kids from recess, That dumb door shut on my tail! I jumped a mile. Mom was nice though. She felt real bad. Yeh ma, I could be tailess right now. Y'all I can't walk right without my tail. When I wag it we go crooked and mom has to stop to get me back on track.

Mom has let me loose in the class room a few times for recess. Shoot I don't normally play with kids, I don't normally play with nothin' what's she thinkin'? Now I got a bunch of kids after me askin' me to shake and sit and come and all the rest of it. Leave me alone I'm lookin' for crumbs on the floor! Allright allright fine you can chase me around the room as long as you don't get between my nose and the floor you can do what you want with me.

Mom and I went to stay with the teacher mom is helpin'. We stayed with her a whole week. I don't know why, I tried to figure it out all week. I thought we was goin' away, but we just went to her house. Mom must have needed a break, who knows, though Dasher mom and dad did go away too, maybe mom needed a ride and that was the only way to get it. Anyways, This lady the best y'all! She found out from ma that I like fruits and vegetables. Shoot y'all, I got apples, carots, oranges, bananas, even celery. I was lovin' it. I'm like hey mom I'll stay here you can go home. Only thing was though, we were super busy! Y'all I was in harness most days from early mornin' till late at night! Dawn till dusk! One night we went to this place where this dude was doin' some sort of magic tricks. Man he poured red stuff in some kids ear and it came out his elbow in to a cup. I ain't lyin' I saw it with my own eyes! How he do that for real! We got through the week though and when I got home I was never so happy to be out of harness and in my own bed I mean it!

This week though, man I'm still tryin' to put it all together. There's this house the humans have been drivin' by, they even have stopped at it, showed it to friends, they went in it once. Well that ain't nothin' new, I've been with them when they go in empty houses and stuff before. Weird! Just like when they go to a parkin' lot, get in another car, drive it off, then bring it back. Glad I finally figured out that means they want a new vehicle.

Well anyways, , somethin' different about this time, though it's taken me a few days to get it. So one night we went back to the house, after shoppin' and gettin' dinner. They got out, opened the house, went in and ate dinner while explorin' around this empty house. I was so baffled. Well at first I was explorin' my paws and nose off. But then I thought, Ok the humans just opened some random house, came in, ate dinner, looked around and left. Seriously? I was so confused. When we went back the next day, they started cleanin' the place. As they cleaned, Dasher dad suddenly arrived with a truck and a traylor full of my mom's old stuff. Finally, the pieces fit. I think we movin' y'all! I don't know if it just be me and my ma, or my April too, but so far, it's only my ma's stuff in the house. Shoot I'm all excited too it's a cool house y'all. There even a pool in the back. Though shoot I ain't goin' nowhere near that thing. Mom keeps saying Reba, stay out of the pool. Dude I'm just walkin' around it. I ain't goin' in there! I walked out there today and saw a dead chippy in there. Sick dude! Then I saw a toad swimmin' around in it too. Come here hopper. Man they gotta do something about that pool it just don't look right. It's all full of black water and stuff, grose! Queen Izabella over there been comin' to the house too. I just hope she don't try and get in that pool. She just a curious puppy I wouldn't put it past her I mean it.

Yota's family came over today to visit real fast. Shoot I love that dog! I still wanna trade! Come here Yota you cool! And princess Diana is so mean to him, she won't even play with him. Dude she scared of her own shadow sometimes. She better get out of that stage.

Last night we went to that ladies conference. I've written about it in my blogs before. Remember the radio being almost dropped on Reba's head? Yes there is a dog down here my goodness.

Well this year, they had vehicles inside. Small ones, but still that creeps me out. Anythin' on wheels belongs outside that's just how it's sposed to be. So today, I'm layin' there, mindin' my own when I suddenly hear an engeon, and I smell gas. Ok, where is it. Well I heard the bike come in, but down a different isle. Few I thought, I'm safe. Finally someone had sense enough to consider the old lab down here on the floor. Well all the sudden, here comes the bike up my isle. I barely had enough time to move out of the way. I could have lost a paw or my nose! Mom says I'm over reactin' and that it wasn't that close to me, but still shoot! Hey, least I didn't bark, I did the service dog name proud, I jumped, but that was it. Man humans! Just when I think I've seen everything.

We had this storm last night, brightest lightning and loudest thunder I've heard in a long time. I was hidin' in my crate and mom wants me to go outside to relieve. In that? You gotta be mad! What tree did you fall out of ma I ain't goin' near that door.

I just got a bath so I smell all pretty. I'm headin' for my crate again, I wonder when I'll be writin' from our new home. I'll be sure and let all my readers know. Y'all better be behavin'.

Moving on

Hey everyone,

I have several stories to tell here, I just hope I can remember all of them.

Things have gotten a little better since loosin' Winston. We went to the mall a few times like we used to when he was around. The first time was aweful for me. I kept lookin' for him, but my April just had her cane with her. The second time I did much better though mom said.

A short while ago we had a visitor stay with us for a few weeks. The rat came back. O man y'all, this was better than TV I mean it. The rat versis queen Annie over there. Pebbles hates Annie. So for the first few days I laughed my butt off at the two of them. They never did settle their differences, but they finally just left each other alone.

Man I don't understand little dogs. Why they gotta freek out when the humans leave the room or wore yet, the house. I mean they bark and cause a scene, try to get out, It's really stupid. I mean, when humans leave, hello, that's your opportunity to search for food, and go in places you ain't aloud to go. But o no, they stand at the door barkin' and gettin' all upset, and then the humans get mad too. Little dogs are so weird. Dasher would do the same thing too.

One night we went to I think it was called a hockey game. I've been to them before. They're just another sporting event humans watch. Well this sporting event is dumb because I get crammed under the seats like I'm a book bag or somethin'. Shoot I may be small, but that don't mean I like being cramped I mean it! So here I am, mindin' my own when all of the sudden I feel somethin' hit my back paw. Well actually first I smelled food but that ain't nothin' new that place is full of food cuz Humans always gotta be stuffin' their faces no matter where they go. So I look up and see this human dressed as a cat walkin' down the stairs. He's apparently one of the mascots. I guess his name is Cattrick. Well he's caryin' a big bucket of pop corn. So I thought he accidentally spilled some or somethin'. No y'all, he was takin' handfuls and throwin' them in to the crowd! Shoot humans are so wasteful but sometimes it's to the benefit of us dogs! So I immediately start tryin' to turn around in my crammed hole mom shuvved me in to. There's now pop corn all over around me. It was then mom discovered what was goin' on. She swooped down and started cleaning up. No ma don't now you're really gunna waste it it's perfectly good pop corn! I did manage to get one or 2 pieces, but shoot the rest of the game I looked for my man Cattrick. And when I finally gave up and drifted off to sleep their team scored or somethin' because the whole place exploded with noise, a fog horn and everything. So much for a nap. Man humans!

Now to the newest development in the life of Reba. Mom has started helpin' in school with little kids. So all day I have to lay in the back of the class room and sometimes I help mom get around in the hallways. I make sure she doesn't run over any kids. Y'all she's almost ran over a few too I've really had to push her or pull her hard out of the way. Mom, quit day dreamin', pay attention to me shoot! Well anyways, I have a tip for my dog readers, if I have any, here's how to relieve bordum if your human puts you in a corner and tells you to stay. When things get a little active in the room, get up and wander through the room. It's hilarious! It disrupts the whole class and mom gets all embarrassed. Sure you get in trouble, but boy it's sure funny while it happens. I've had fun though, and the kids like me a lot. A few times mom has taken my harness off so they can pet me. And when I'm good mom shares her apple snack with me too. At first I thought we were there so mom could tell them all about me and show them what all I can do. But we go there almost every day now, and we're there all day. It's good to get out.

Well, I think that's all my stories for now. I'll be back later. Now that I have a place to go every day, I bet I'll have lots more stories. Y'all better be behavin'.

Hard times, and catching up

Hey there y'all, bet all my readers thought I died. Well I haven't, but I have been slackin' again in the updatin' department. It's been a rough few months for me though. This post may be a bit serious, but I got a few stories to keep it lively enough. I'm gunna get the hard stuff out of the way first though.

First, y'all, I'm gettin' old. I mean too old for this job of guide work. I recently celebrated my 9th birthday, and I just am ready to hang up the harness and spend my days sleepin' on a couch and gettin' fed. So that big bad R word all us guide dogs dread, well as you get older, it's not such a bad word anymore. I'm actually lookin' forward to it.

Now for the sad news and I'm gunna be as brief as possible with this cuz you all know me, I don't be gettin' all emotional and junk like that. My brother, and best friend has left us. Winston got lung cancer of all things. Shoot I can't believe it he was so young, too young. Anyway, it's been hard watchin' him go down hill. I had to say goodbye to him just last night. While out workin' today, it just, wasn't the same without him.

In other news, this little queen bee wanna be as I'm now callin' her, is still around. Princess Annie Belle who think she all that and alpha too. Um, hello! No little 5 month old puppy is gunna walk all up in here and be alpha over me I mean it. Her and I been havin' who's in charge wars. Thank goodness I finally put her in her place concerning tryin' to steel food from my bowl. Um, no that ain't happenin'. First of all, I don't get enough as it is in my view, and so her takin' some just ain't happenin'. Second of all, again, I'm alpha. You don't touch the top dog's food. I been tellin' her this for months now. Gettin' more and more stern with her. Finally I had to get a little nasty with her. Hey, I'm sorry but she had to learn the hard way. And you know somethin'? She ain't come near my food since. She is a smart little thing when she wanna be.

I like that other sheltie better though. He comes over sometimes to play with Annie. His name's Yota. Shoot he cute why can't we keep him and give bossy head to Yota's family I mean it.

Well now for the funny story. So my ma and my April went to the mall tonight. For the first while we walked all around the mall, lookin' in stores too. I did the best I could, but y'all, it was not a fun time. Shoot I miss that gullable golden. I mean it we depended on each other and worked together helping each other out. Well anyway, after shopping around we went once again to those dark rooms with a giant TV screen and pop corn. First off I'm like dude it's cold in here! Y'all the heater was broken in there. I mean, I got me a nice fur coat to keep me warm, but it don't work as well when I be layin' on a hard cement floor. Shoot I bout froze to death lyin' there tryin' to sleep. Well as the movie goes on, mom reaches down and grabs her bag of candy and tries to open it. Well she was havin' a fit with this bag. I finally lifted my head to watch cuz it was funny seein' her struggle to open her candy. Then, all the sudden, the whole bag explodes. Candy goes all over including hittin' me in the head. So now I'm surrounded by little wrapped chocolates! Score for Reba! Ah shoot! No Reba, leave it Reba, stop Reba, Stay Reba, You gotta be kiddin' me! You explode your candy, and I don't even get one? I should! For one, I'm a good dog. 2, I did good guide work tonight. 3, you just nailed me with about 8 of them I should get one for that. Shoot. Well, no luck, maybe next time.

I forgot to post about the trip mom and I took around Christmas time. We went up to see my Kitty and grandma again. Cool! This time it was all different though. My Kitty and grandma each have their own places now. So no hangin' out in that old basement, getting' in to cat food and countless other things. Mom and I stayed with my Kitty. That Dose cat is gone too. Tigger told me she died. Man that's sad. I'm gunna miss pickin' on that cat. Shoot that was hilarious!

Grandma got this new dog though now. This little fluff mop of a thing named Brandy. Boy she a witch too. I went over to Grandma's place, and was just sniffin' around, all the sudden Brandy lays in to my face. Whatever I wasn't even gunna respond to that. I mean it wasn't even like that was the first time she and I met. Get over yourself. Shoot I could eat her for breakfast.

I got to play with Dekota again too. Think she's one of the few female dogs I can tolerate. I still can't believe how big she be though and she a lab too.

The funniest story from that trip, one morning mom took me out to relieve. We walked down the stairs, outside and down more stairs, as soon as mom hit the parking lot, she literally fell on her butt. It was a sheet of ice. I about fell over laughin' at her. It really was a quiet trip though. Usually we go visit there in the summer and we can get out more and do stuff. In the winter it's a little harder because of the snow. It's still one of my favorite places to go though.

A few weeks ago I got to see my puppy raisers again! That was awesome! They got a puppy they be raisin' now too. She a black lab too and her name is Jaylee. She was good too. But shoot I'd be good too if my ma was handin' out treats left and right. Come on my Sandy! Where's my treats! That was another shoppin' around a big mall day.

Well, I think I'll go now, there's a bunch of new snow outside for me to romp in. All our snow melted and then all came back again. Sweet! I just wish that golden was around to romp in it with me. Queen Frostene ain't as fun. All she do is run and jump at my face. Quit it! O man! Speakin' of jumpin' at my face! Shoot I don't know if it be an epidemic now with puppies, but our neighbor had a dog they was watchin' for a few days, Ok first of all y'all, this dog, at 5 months old was bigger than Winston. I mean he was just huge. So mom brings me over to meet him, and he kept tryin' to jump at my face and bite at my face! Hello! Rue! You better believe I put him in his place real quick. Annie does the same thing too. The good thing is though, she 10 pounds, not 65. Shoot! Ok y'all, behave, and I promise I'll not wait 3 months to post again.

New baby in the house

So I came home all excited, finally out of the dumb airports, finally out of harness, time for some relaxin' playin' with Winston maybe, you know, Reba down week. O no! I get in the car and who do I see instead of Winston, this tiny little fuz ball. I had to sniff it all over to make sure it was a dog and not a rodent of some kind. It's a dog allright. This little tiny thing they're calling Annie. She looks a little like Dasher, only she's tiny and lighter in color, and she ain't Dasher. But they got her all set up here with Dasher's toys, Dasher's bed, Dasher's crate, I don't like her. I want her to go away and since this is my blog, I can vent here as much as I want to. Winston loves her. He thinks she's the cutest thing ever. Ok Ok I'll admit it. She is kind of cute. But I don't want her in this  house and certainly not in my room. I peed all over the floor twice just to show the baby this is my house. I'm in charge here. And when she comes near me, I worn her that is not acceptable. Mom and the rest are mad at me I think because they say I'm being a butt head. Shoot I can't help it if I don't want a baby around. She can't replace Dasher. They keep calling her Reba junior because she's a pistil. I will say though, the one thing I do like about her, the girl knows how to eat. Shoot she gets almost as excited about her food as I do. My kind of girl! Wolf that food ddown. But do y'all know how much food they feedin' this little rat? Shoot I ain't lyin' she was getting' fed like 6 times a day! Then 4, now she's down to 3 but she get sometimes two scoops of food in her bowl! I only get one scoop, twice a day. Winston says he thinks her scoops are littler than ours, but man she still getting' a ton of food! That's another reason I don't like her. A puppy smaller than my head should not be getting almost as much food as me that's just wrong. The humans finally workin' against me though. They know my weakness. If I'm nice to the puppy now, I get treats. Ah you're killing me here I mean it. Well, the humans ain't to happy with me right now because of all the messes I've made. Shoot I'm just tryin' to establish I'm on top here. Hello! I'm here! I'm goin' to my crate now. The humans are mad, and Winston is all caught up in the cuteness of the baby.

Trip to the mountain, part 2

Well bet you didn't think you'd get to hear two posts from me in the same
week did you. Shoot I go months with not a word then I give y'all two posts
in one week. But it's been a busy week.
I have to tell you about the one day out with the humans. Humans are so
weird! First, they went shoppin' which is normal. They even went in to a
store that sold dog stuff. Mom tried coats on me. But she didn't buy one. I
think she may though soon. Probably gunna be my Christmas present. Hello ma!
I want food and that's it!
Well after walkin' around different shops, they stopped at this fountain.
Y'all, I ain't kiddin' steam was comin' off this fountain. The water was hot
like in a bath tub. But we were outside. I don't get it! So then we went
inside and the rest of the time mom spent getting a bath and massage.
Couldn't she just take a bath at home? She did take a bath at home, now she
was taking another one. Whatever, I don't question the ways of humans no
matter how strange and that was strange. I was good though, I laid down and
waited for mom, and even licked her hand while she got the massage. No I
wasn't bein' nice. I liked the taste of the oil on her fingers! So that was
finally over and we went to the school where I got another apple and an
orange. Score for Reba! Bout time! I'm supposed to get 9 of everything on
this birthday. Remember? Well now on to the strangest thing this lab has
ever seen. And believe me, I've probably seen everything! If not, now I know
I have.
I been tryin' to figure this out all week and I just can't. So we drive up
and down the mountain to get places. Well near where we stayin', there's a
gate. And that's it. Just a gate. There's no fence, just two posts on either
side of the road with a gate. And every time we leave or come we have to
stop so the humans can open this gate, go through, then close the gate
again. Why don't they just go around it! Or better yet, why don't they just
keep it open? Or even better still, why is it even there? I'm tellin' ya I
do not understand the human race. Our last day here we went to the school
again, but this time mom took my harness off outside on their play ground
and I got to run with the kids. Actually I was lookin' for things to eat off
the ground more than I was playin' with the kids. But to be able to run
loose outside like that was nice. And it was a nice break since mom's had me
workin' a lot this week.
We sittin' in the airport now waitin' to go home. I think somethin' happened
bad though cuz mom was very upset, and instead of goin' through security
then gettin' on the plane, we went through security and we been sittin' for
a long time. I'll try and write more in this thing. My facebook page is
temporarily goin' through some changes, but I'll be postin' there again soon
as well. Until then, I want to thank all y'all for the birthday wishes. I'll
be expectin' my 9 treats in the mail shortly. O and whoever said I was 27,
wow what a complement. Thanks for that one. Actually I'm 63 now. Y'all be
good.
Reba the dog.

Trip to the mountain

Hi y'all,
I don't even remember the last time I posted here. But here I am again.
This time mom and I are in a place I never been before. I don't think mom
has either. Think she said it was called Arkansas.
We got on one of those plane things to get here and we've been here for
almost a week now.
The lady we visitin' lives on top of a mountain. I ain't kiddin' either we
drove up and up to get to it. The only real significant thing I've noticed
here, is the dogs are aloud to just run loose. I mean no leashes or fences
or nothin'! They do have collars, but they get to just rome the mountain.
Boy would that be sweet! I think mom should retire me here for that reason
alone and I'd live out my days bein' a mountain dog. The first two dogs I
met, I thought they were gunna kill me! The first dog, her name is Abby. She
came out of no where when I was tryin' to relieve myself. Hello! A little
busy here! She was all up in my grill and stuff! Leave me alone! I was nice
though, I tolerated her obnoctious behavior. Well then, here comes another
dog! These dogs are both german shepherds by the way. So as soon as the male
comes on the scene, his name was Archy, Abby goes nuts. I mean she starts
bad mouthin' me sayin' I better stay away from her brother or else or some
such nonsense. Well shoot I ain't puttin' up with that! I just endured her
uncalled for lack of boundaries. No respect at all! And now she has the
nerve to turn on me and give me that garbage. No way. Unbelievable! So I let
her have it! You picked the wrong dog to mess with fool! I don't care if you
are a huge shepherd who's more than twice my size. Well after that, this dog
literally would camp outside the door where we're staying waitin' for me.
Archy was cool. Shoot he didn't know what was goin' on.
Now as I write this, Abby Archy and I now get along pretty well. She still
has no respect for personal boundaries. And I thought Matilda was bad. O my
goodness. And they make fun of me sayin' I'm a city dog and I don't know
what bein' a real dog is. Whatever.
I met another dog named Bailey. She cool too. She looks a lot like me. She
shouted at me for comin' in her house though. Well excuse the nylabone out
of me! I've had a rough day with those two block headed shepherds, I don't
need your mouth too. Shoot dogs rude here!
The activities I been doin' the rest of the time have involved lots of kids.
Just yesterday for example, mom spoke to several groups of kids all about me
and what I do for her. Yeh that's right ma, appreciate what I do for you I
mean it. She was proud of me too. It was a long day for both of us. I think
we did probably four presentations. We of course went to church, o yeh there
we did another presentation so that's 5. After that many I was so tired of
all the attention! I got home and hid for over an hour! We went to the mall,
and out to eat a few times, those are normal things though. The coolest part
about doin' the presentations yesterday, the kids found out I like apples.
Shoot I got 3 apples in one day! I was lovin' that! I get a lot of apples
here. Emily, the lady we're stayin' with, she gives me apples a lot too.
Score for Reba!
If it weren't for the mountain dogs makin' fun of me for bein' a city dog I
might wanna live here. I don't know what else we be doin' this week, or even
when we be goin' home. I'll try and come back with another update soon.
Oh, and on a sad note, I had to say goodbye to a very good friend a few
weeks ago. Dasher, my friend and leader for these last 7 and a half years
left us just a couple weeks ago. He had cancer. I will miss him a lot. It's
just Winston and I holdin' down the fort, and I'm now officially alpha. I
only hope I can do half as well as Dasher did.
Y'all behave, o and by the way, tomorrow is national give presents to Reba
day. I'll be 9 this year and you know what that means? I get 9 of
everything. I want 9 carrots, 9 apples, 9 duckies, 9 ice cubes, and 9 of any
other food item you can give me! I mean it! Shoot!
Reba the dog.
P.S. Since mom's lame and couldn't get this to actually post when I wrote
it, it's 5 extra treats per day. So that means, 15 more treats please!

Alpha in trainin'

Well the time has come in this family for another alpha to step up. Of course that alpha is me. Secretly I've always been alpha, just waitin' for Dasher to say the word.

Dasher's goin' deaf. So as a result, I'm now alpha in trainin' it seems. Of course I'd be next in line over Winston. Don't matter that he bigger than me, size don't play in to this at all.

I mean really, could y'all see Winston as alpha? O help us all! Shoot he afraid of his own shadow. Y'all, He barks and growls at people down the street. Shoot they ain't even in our driveway and he havin' a fit. No. No he can't be alpha sorry. Just tonight for example, He all in the entry way, and he jumps up cuz he so called saw somethin'. Got me up, got Dasher up, O I was upset. Get out of here Winston you so can't do this. Shoot least I don't growl at the garbage man. I may bark at the neighbors, but they in our driveway! Dasher can't hear to know who out there, I gotta let him know.

Besides, who more scary anyways? Me? Or sweet faced Winston. Exactly. If Dasher needin' someone to take over and protect this house, I'll gladly step up.

Well I'm off to beg more treats off Dasher mom and dad. A higher up position in this household demands more treats I mean it. No ice cubes either! Shoot give me some real food! Y'all behave.

Reba the dog.

Another trip

Hey everyone,
It's taken me a while to recap the last trip we were on. Partly cuz I been tired from it. Shoot these humans wear me out!
Well first of all it was a new experience, Dasher dad dropped us off early in the morning and my mom and my April got on this thing they call a train. I thought it was cool! Shoot I had all kinds of room, Well that is until Winston decided to take up most of the space. Thanks Winston. Don't mind Reba, I'll just curl up my arthritic back and stay in my tight ball for 4 hours that's ok. Shoot!
O I forgot to tell you all about my vet visit. In a nut shell, I've got a little arthritis in my back, I'm sadly skinny and mom loves it, and everything else is workin' fine. Accept I found it funny when the vet looked at the Xray of my stomach and saw that it was empty! Yeh! Yeh it's empty! I don't get fed nearly enough! And they wanted a sample of my 2's. No ma! I ain't goin' for you. All the food you give me goes to sustain my pathetically skinny body. I don't do 2's anymore I mean it. I'm 51 pounds! Shoot just waistin' away! Don't believe my mom when she says I'm at a perfect wait. And once again the vet just calls out this fact to all present. O yes Reba's at 51 pounds! Shoot what in the world! You don't announce a girls wait right out loud like that! They could have just whispered it for real!
Ok so that was my vet visit. Back to the train. We finally arived at an unknown destination and we got out and waited there between two trains for the longest time. Shoot where are we I mean it! Can I please have breakfast now shoot! This little cart pulls up and we climb on. It was like those carts we get to ride in airports. So off we go, when out of no where, someone plops on the cart pretty much on my head! Hello! There's a dog here don't sit on my head please shoot! There go Reba again! So suddenly we get off the cart, not even near the terminal and mom and my April follow this girl who had almost squished my head. Shoot where she going? We finally get inside, and I all the sudden recognize the girl. It's my Kayren! Cool! So now I'm all excited but the place is far too crouded for me to give her a propper greeting. We went in this hot crouded room to wait for our luggage. Excuse me, one of them bags is verry important. It's carrying our food you forget that or lose that you die. Winston precious dude! He finally figures out it's my Kayren as we wait for the bags, but Kayren's goin' back and forth lookin' for the bags so Winston's just standin' there sayin' over and over, Reba! It's Karen! It's Karen Reba. Yes Winston, I'm tryin' to make sure my food gets over here. Finally mom feeds me and then I felt a little better, then My Kayren came over with the bags, including the bag my food was in! Shoot finally! So off we went, and I followed perfectly. Course I did. My Kayren had the food I'd follow that to the end of the earth. We walked for a while, finally were able to relieve, then the humans got some food and gave us some water. By this time, shoot I was ready for another nap! But o no, we go board yet another train. Finally we get to my Kayren's house and I thought, at last I can rest and be a dog. But no, a few hours later, off we go again to one of those places where people ride rides way up in the air. Humans are weird. No ma I ain't workin' here. Ma I've been workin' for you since 5 this mornin' I was done at 3 I told you this. Well, the rest of the day was a blur for me. I was wantin' a Reba down day, several of them after that.
That day though was the busiest we had on the trip. The rest of the time we had fun at my Kayren's place, she had apples and gave them out very generously! Cool!
The humans went to that place where they role balls down to nock over big pins, whatever. Boring. But Winston had a fit there. I never did figure out if he was upset he couldn't go after the balls, or upset his mom left him under the table or what. I went to sleep. He was just upset the whole time.
We went to the lake and of course, the humans drug me out in the water to swim. Shoot I don't like to swim all that much I mean it! I literally just stand there and wait patiently for the humans to get done so we can leave. Come on! Let's go! Especially now, I was covered in mosquettos! Finally the humans saw reason and we left.
Only other insident, I can't really say much about because even now, I still am not entirely sure what happened. I just know, we were driving, we hit something, and the humans went from happy and fun to scared and stressed. They were that way the rest of the time. Winston said he saw someone hurt, I don't know if we hurt them, it was all so confusing. All I knew was, I need to stay calm for mom. So I laid perfectly still at mom's feet till she told me what to do. That was right too cuz she was proud of me. We left my Kayren's car there, and then the next day, My Kayren had a different car. Well cool thing about that was, I had way more room in it. Sweet! I was likin' that!
We came back on the train again, and this time I spralled out and took up all the room. How's it feel Winston. Shoot! The return trip was much more crazy as far as people goes. Probably because it was in the afternoon and not before the sun even thought of gettin' up. I never seen so many cars! They were just stoppin' in the middle of the walk ways, so we couldn't even cross the streets well. And Winston was freekin' out cuz of all the horn blowing. I don't know why so many were honkin' their horns, but shoot it was annoyin'!
We been home for a few days now, and Now Dasher mom and dad went somewhere. I'm kind of glad we didn't go. Shoot I been goin' all over the place it seems. Time for a Reba down week. Sure I've had fun, but come on now!
Well, I'm signin' out for now, Look for me on facebook as always, and I'll post here again soon. Y'all behave.
Reba the dog.

Vacation

Hi everyone,

Well we went back up north for a visit. Shoot this the greatest place on earth I mean it! Cats to tease, food to beg for, crumbs to find, shoot y'all, I got in my Kitty grandma's car one day, there was pop corn all over the floor. Man I got 5 or six pieces before mom discovered what I was doin'. Sweet! And cat food, y'all this is funny. My mom got smart this time and kept pickin' up the bowl of cat food. What she didn't know for several days, there was two bowls of cat food. Score for Reba. Well, for a few days anyway. As you can imagine, my ears aren't likin' this trip as always, but I don't care! I had the time of my life.

One day we went to the lake and went swimmin'. Now I ain't a big fan of water, but mom took me out in the water with her. A long way out too. Shoot it wore me out! I did have fun though. More fun than I would have had tied up on the beech waitin' for mom to come back. She left me with grandma and went out to swim for a while, I was cool till I saw her go under! Hello! Let me go what my ma doin' out there she can't see a thing I know she can't. She came back though and I attacked her with kisses.

One day we went on this long car ride and when we stopped, we was at one of them festival things. I'm used to those, used to go to those with my Emily all the time. So I'm lookin' out the window right, and all the sudden, I ain't lyin' y'all this dude walks by, must have been 8 feet tall. I mean it! Humans are so weird! When we were walkin' around, I saw him again and I pulled mom off in the direction he went. I mean how he so tall anyways! I had to check him out. O whoops, guess I better follow my Kitty instead. Man y'all the dogs I saw that day. Last time I was up here, I went on and on about how this must be the cat state. Shoot nothin' but cats cats cats up here. But I saw tons of dogs this day. Mom made me behave though. I did good for the most part. Mom and I havin' troubles workin' together some lately. We just ain't jellin' like we used to. The day ended with the humans watchin' those fire balls in the sky. I don't mind them either, I was too busy beggin' pop corn off the people sittin' next to grandma. It worked too till Grandma discovered what we were doin'. Shoot!

Speakin' of cats, one mornin' mom, my Kitty, grandma and I were out visitin' people. Well grandma went to the door, the rest of us stood back closer to the road. Then, I saw it. This cat came slinkin' around the side of the house. I wanted it bad! But I stayed still. I was in harness after all. Well, the cat starts taunting me, like all cats do when they realize a dog is on a leash and can't get them. So I'm tryin' to ignore this cat, but all the sudden, it went too far. Gotta teach the whiskered devil a lesson. Without thinkin' I lunged, just to scare it. I knew I wouldn't get far with mom at the end of my leash. I might get popped, but least I'd of scared the cat a bit and shut it up. Instead though, I lunged and kept going. I ran and ran straight for that cat. Shoot I ain't never seen a cat look so scared. I laughed myself silly. Till mom got me back. Awe man! Shoot! She wasn't happy with me for the longest time. Breakin' away from mom was not a good idea.

One day mom and I spent almost the entire day visitin' people in a place like what we go to on some Sundays. When I get to see my Pat! They're the elderly humans. I got to be petted and admired all day. Not normally one to like that kind of thing, but comin' from them, I kind of like it.

One night mom and the others went to this house and there were tons of little yipper dogs. I mean y'all they just kept comin'! I saw at least two when we arrived in the driveway and I almost jumped out of the car from the back seat through mom's front car door to see them. Then when I got out, in harness. Shoot! I saw another one. When we went to sit down, a fourth made it's appearance from the house. Dude! How many dogs be in this house! Some nice kids came to pet and play with me, and they gave me carrots. Shoot I'm their friend for life I mean it! No I don't wanna play with that ball, give me another carrot!

So some other things we did were go on a boat ride, go out to eat, mom and I got lost in a little woods tryin' to find some trail, and of course, lots of hang out time in the basement and car rides with the crazy humans. Why should mom have all the fun up here. This place awesome!

And the most shockin' thing of all up here, on the last night, I got to sleep on Grandma's bed, So I wake up in the middle of the night, guess who I see layin' right next to me. Dose. That crabby, old, mean cat who hates both me and my ma, but mostly my ma for bringin' me with her every time she come. Shoot dose shut up! I am my mom's eyes so get used to it I mean it. I don't care if it is your house either. Well I just laughed and laughed when I saw her sleepin' next to me. Shoot she don't hate me like she say she do I mean it. Cats I tell ya.

Since bein' back home I've assumed my rightful place as top dog around here. Bullied Winston in to giving me his frosty paw and if my April wasn't there to make me give it back I'd of succeeded. Shoot my April! Give me two of those things then. I'm starvin' here! Then I had to go check on my stash of apples I horded from the treat tree disaster. I'm still upset about that too I mean it! But other than that, no place like home and I'm glad to be back with the boys. For now, signin' out, and look for me on facebook again since I can now freely post again. Be good.

Reba the dog.

Long time no post

Hey everyone,
Well I know it's been a while since I updated y'all. But quite honestly it's been too hot and I did just get over bein' sick, and there's also facebook. Though I haven't posted much on that either.
It's been a good summer so far. Mom's been walkin' a lot in the mornin's still. Since it started gettin' way hot though, she stopped that for a bit. Good thing too. I was dyin' out there. My days consist of gettin' groomed, sleepin' as much as I can with Winston around, and beggin' from the humans for things. Accept Dasher mom gettin' real annoyed with that. She started movin' the gate further and further back away from the kitchen door. Excuse me! That's my spot Dasher ma! O and Dasher dad? Shoot I'm still miffed at him. Wait till you hear the injustice he did.
So in our yard, ever since I came to live in this family, is a tree I call the treat tree. It drops apples all over the place. It's my favorite tree in the whole yard. So one day, I look outside, Dasher dad is cuttin' the thing down! I mean I stood and watched my treat tree crash on the deck. As soon as I was able I ran outside and started grabbin' as many apples as I could and runnin' off to hide them. It's completely gone now, no more treat trea! Rue! Hardly any apples left either. They keep findin' them and gettin' rid of them. I mean what am I sposed to do in the yard without the treat tree to supplament my daily food consumption. I mean it!
Other things that have happened, We drove to a place where we parked and watched those things called fireworks. I laid in mom's lap the whole time. They don't bother me. Whatever.
Last night my mom and my April went swimmin'. Winston and I had to guide them over to the pool of course. Well they tied us up by their stuff and went to swim. Well shoot I was fine, just laid down hopin' for a nice nap. O no. Winston cried his fool head off the whole time. Shoot! I'm like shut up Winston the humans be right there in front of you. You can see them, they ok, and we ain't aloud to swim in that thing anyways. He wouldn't listen though. So much for a nap. O well, As it got dark I had to be on the alert anyways. My ma can't see so I gotta protect her and worn her of anything comin'. I don't care if it was our neighbor I barked bloody murder at that came in dude! It's dark I can't tell that I mean it!
Think that's about all I have. For not postin' on this thing in a while you'd think I'd have a lot to say, but really it's been a quiet summer. The biggest thing for me that's happened was my treat tree. Shoot I'm still upset about that.
I'll try and start updatin' this thing more. Maybe things will pick up soon and I'll have more to talk about. For now, I'll be doin' much the same things, eatin', sleepin', beggin', and workin' some too. Hope all my readers are behavin' themselves. Look for me on facebook and stay cool y'all. Shoot I thought we left this heat behind at mom's old home.

The dreaded R word

Hey everyone,
Well yes, I know my posts are gettin' fewer and fewer on this thing. I been really slackin'. Things are very routine around here lately. We've settled right in, and all the sudden mom's payin' more attention to me. I mean, groomin' me more, goin' for more walks, it's cool and all, but at first I was really miffed cuz she was cuttin' in to my routine of nap times. Shoot! Winston finally calmed himself down. He said he was just happy to have a friend and play mate again. Poor guy. Guess he really was feelin' lonely.
Oh and finally finally finally! Winston's got some of the same issues I do with food. Now at last he won't get treats while I'm denied them cuz of dumb food allergies.
Speakin' of allergies I got an ear infection again. Man these are annoyin'! I don't even know where this one came from cuz I been bein' good!
Well now to the reason I'm postin' this. I'm a little upset cuz I keep hearin' mom talkin' about the dreaded R word lately. For those of you who don't know, the word is retirement. Somethin' about how mom's really noticin' I'm slowin' down when we work. So today, I played extra long and extra hard. There. Hope that got rid of the R word from the humans vocabulary. Guess retirin' wouldn't be half so bad, I'd love to just spend the rest of my days sleepin' and beggin' and eatin'.
And speakin' of that too, my Dasher mom has been tellin' me to go on so much lately! Excuse me! Rue! I always sit by the kitchen door and beg and she usually always tosses me a carrot or apple or two. Hello! No I actually got put in mom's room a few times cuz I was beggin' too much I guess. Excuse me! Mom's got me workin' almost every day and I'm wastin' away even more!
Here's another thing goin' on. If any of you have me on facebook, you saw some of this, but today, mom goes in and starts cleanin' out my crate. Well she piles up several of my old toys on the floor, and lets Winston at them. Shoot he destroyed one, almost 2 in probably 10 minutes! Those are my toys I mean it! I don't care if I never play with them, and they old, shoot they mine! I left the room! I could not stand to see him destroy one more. He came home and totally claimed my toy box full of rubber toys and nylabones. No I don't play with most of them anymore either but still! That beside the point! Don't he got his own toys?
Hears somethin' else mom's started doin'. For a while now her and I go for walks in the mornin'. Just me and her. Well Dasher has a fit. Boy do I hear it when I come back too. Mostly I tune him out because I just want water. I'm like Dasher you really wanna go out with us, we get all hot and stuff! It's crazy! Well, mom has started takin' Dasher along with us. It took her a while to figure out how to walk him, and work me. But finally, she rigged something up. It's weird too. She has this short leash, and she hooks it to the side of my harness. Dasher's at the other end of it and so he's basically walkin' on my left side. Boy it drives him nuts too cuz he likes to stop all along the walk. No we don't do that. We out here to work and actually walk. So many times he stops and gets himself choked. I'm always tellin' him come on! Then I laugh at him and say, Hey, you wanted to come so bad, well here's what we do keep up! He'll get it eventually. It's kind of cool havin' him right there beside me. We can talk the whole time. He asks a lot of questions still about my guide work.
Well all, think that's about it for now. My nice clean bed is ready for me. I'll try and update this thing more. Y'all behave out there!

Crazy week

Hey everybody.
Well mom and I just got back from a little trip. Here's the weird part, my Dasher mom and dad, they left on their own trip a few days before me and mom did. And they drove. Did we get to drive? O no! We had to fly on one of them plane things. Shoot and the thing was delayed! I had to wait and wait for my dinner. And I hadn't even had breakfast. Don't mind Reba, I'll just starve right here on the airport floor. Well, we finally landed and to my surprise, we were in Greenville again where we used to live! Well I was all excited then. For the next several days we visited with old friends, went out to eat a lot, man humans can eat. I saw Winston again. Man that boy is sick. Shoot he got himself all worked up and sick over everythin'. Dude calm down! He was all upset cuz I left, then Matilda left, had it in his head that he was next, I said shoot Winston, out of all three of us, you the last one to go. For real! But you will if you keep explodin' in harness and stuff I mean it! So, had to calm him down, give him the old pep talk about walkin' across the stage. My April was graduatin'. Shoot I remember that all so well.
He wouldn't even play with me cuz he said I was sick too. Ok had a slight infection. Big deal! I was on antibiotics for it, I mean it!
So mid way through the week Dasher mom and dad showed up. I'm like where y'all come from? And if y'all here, why couldn't I ride with y'all instead of flyin' on one of them dumb planes! Sure enough they were campin' in greenville. But it smelled like they had been other places too.
We visited the camp site and they imediatly hooked me to a tree and went inside. Well I heard that air runnin' in there. Shoot it was hot. Yeh I know they gave me cold water and I was in the shade and stuff, but still! I'm spoiled! I need to be in the air too. So, I wrapped my leash around where they were plugged in to. And unplugged them. No air for the humans. I got a good laugh out of that. They let me inside too. Ha! I win!
April's graduation was the worst day ever. I was just not in a good mood. Man I didn't wanna work, I was tired, it had been a long week, I was just upset. And mom was no help. She didn't seem to care that her lab was off and not wantin' to work. She made me anyways. We fought through all the crouds, I got more corrections than I've gotten in a long time, And sayin' goodbye to everyone was hard. Shoot!
Finally, the day was over and Winston Dasher and I were alone in the camper to destress for the evenin'. That's all I needed too. I was back to normal after that.
Then for the long trip home. We all loaded up in the truck, it reminded me of when we moved home last summer. After many many hours, we arived home to my crate, my toys, my yard, and life has been wonderful ever since. We went for a walk last night and even though I had to stop several times to go, it still was lots of fun. Now if Winston will just calm down and get back to normal, we'll be all good.

The life of a service dog

Ok y'all, if you saw my post on facebook last night you know I'm lucky to be alive to tell this story. And I even have another to add to it. The life of a service dog may look glammerous, but like I keep tellin' Dasher, it ain't all it's cracked up to be. In fact, sometimes it can get downright dangerous! Shoot! Though, livin' with my mom is dangerous too for Dasher cuz he don't stay out of her way but that's beside the point.
So mom and my Dasher mom went to this ladies thing they call the Sharithon. Otherwise known as, Hours of naptime for Reba, with occasional leadin' mom around a few places. Apparently this year though, it also means, testin' Reba's reflexes, and poise as a leaderdog. Now I been at this job for almost 7 years with my mom and you'd think I've been through everything. I pride myself on bein' mostly unphased by most things, but apparently that ain't enough for the humans, they feel the need to test me more it seems.
So last night, I'm layin' there sound asleep, all is goin' well when this loud music comes over the speakers. No problem. I'm used to this. Well all the sudden out of nowhere I hear this super loud boom! I woke up from a wonderful dream of bein' barried in dog food to see a large box on the floor, just feet from my head. Someone had dropped a boom box within feet of my head! Hello! Looked like it was an accident and not part of the act. Least humans ain't totally lost their fool heads. Throwin' around boom boxes. All I can say is, thank goodness we were sittin' where we was I mean it! One roe back and I may have been a different dog today.
The next story happened today when we again went to more of this Sharithon. We sat in a different section this time. Few I thought. I'll be safe over here. So again, I curl up obediently where mom put me, and was soon asleep. This time the dream was of a giant milk bone that never got smaller no matter how much I ate it. Milk bones! Man I ain't had one in so long! Stupid allergies I mean it! So anyways, there I was, bein' a well behaved leaderdog when I heard this aweful wining noise. I pop up my head and look, and there's a monster flyin' at me! Shoot that ain't no milk bone! I shook my head wakin' up more and realized it was a woman on a scooter thing. She was goin' fast too! Zoomed right by me! I thought for sure she was gunna get my paw. Now that I think about it she was not that close but it sure seemed that way. When my heart calmed down after that one, I couldn't go back to sleep. I laid there and watched that scooter. I knew it was comin' back and sure enough it did a little while later, with the same obnoctious winin' noise like some cars make when they drive down the road. . I crawled around mom's leg after that to seek shelter under where they were sittin'. Looks like it's every dog for herself around here and I needed to find cover.
I don't know what the humans were expectin' out of me, but I'm pretty sure I disappointed them. Even caught off guard like that I kept my cool. I popped my head up, but I didn't sit up, stand up, wine, or bark. Mom said she was real proud of me and she and her friends felt bad I had been scared not once but twice. Yeh you better feel bad ma! Where's my treat! I know I heard a lady talkin' later in the day and in her speech I heard the words apples and carrots. Or was that in my dream too.
I was pretty good the rest of the day. Mom said I was too fidgity during lunch. Well excuse me ma! I'm kind of wonderin' what these humans are gunna do next. They get together and crazy things happen! Hello! There is a dog in your midst. A little consideration and some carrots might be nice. Mom let me walk around out of harness with her and her friends some to destress a little. That helped. I got home and all I wanted was my dinner. I didn't care that it was early. I wanted it now! I've had a hard day I deserve that much!
So even at my age, almost 8 and a half, you still never know what to expect when out with humans.

Funny Story

Ok y'all, so a few days ago my Dasher mom and dad went away for a few days leaving mom alone with us dogs. Well it was nice I thought, I slept a lot, and so did Dasher. But somethin' funny happened that I'm still laughin' about.
Mom was sitting in front of the tv for a bit, then she got up and went to one of the closets. She came back out with a spray bottle and paper towels in her hand. She knelt down by the TV again, just watchin' for a bit. Then, she gets up and turns around. Next thing that happened, and I have told Dasher time and again not to lay in mom's way but that fool just does not listen. So therefore, he gets stepped on all the time! I used to feel bad, but now I just laugh because seriously! Do you see me gettin' stepped on by mom? No! Why? Because I've learned to stay in a corner out of her way dude she can not see us at all! So anyways, sure enough, Dasher is layin' right in her path. Mom stepps on his paw, he yelps, and I look up and mom is flying through the air! I think she was tryin' to avoid stepping more on Dasher because by now he was moving to try and get out of the way, and he was makin' it worse. So mom's flyin' through the air, and she lands hard on the floor on her side. I laughed myself senseless at her. And Dasher was all tryin' to see if she was ok, she was tryin' to see if he was ok, Shoot I was laughin' too hard to see if either one of them were ok. Humans! Always a good source of entertainment at least, even if they aren't the best source for food all the time!

Long time no post

Well it's about time! My mom had computer issues, got them fixed, and never fixed my blog. Hello! Well she finally got it so I can at last update you all. The last I posted was in January. Shoot! Well, I'll try and catch y'all up. It's spring now and y'all know what that means. I blow my winter coat, drive the humans nuts with extra hair everywhere, I get to hang out outside more which is sweet! Dasher mom got a new vehicle and I was havin' fun ridin' in it till Winston came home for a visit. Shoot that dog is the antsiest dog I have ever seen in a vehicle. He all over the place. Y'all saw I put that on facebook. Well it ain't an exadgoration. I have been stepped on, kicked, even sat on so many times because the fool will not sit still back there. Dude! Find a spot and just stay there! Least I'm a good rider I mean it. Stress bucket!
Yes my April and Winston came home for a visit. They're still here. We havin' fun accept we ain't aloud loose in the back yard. Winston's super upset about that. At first I thought it was cuz of me eatin' stuff I shouldn't again, I ain't doin' that as much I mean it! But actually the reason is I think cuz Dasher dad put a bunch of stuff on the ground, and he doesn't want us messin' it up.
My Kayren came for a visit too! Sweet! I get more treats! I get them from my Dasher dad and my Kayren! Accept Dasher dad stopped givin' them to me. Shoot! It's ok. I'm keepin' count of how many he missed. And my Kayren, you still oe me 9 treats from the pictures you been takin' of me. I mean it!
Me and my Kayren got a deal goin' that for every picture she takes of me I get a treat. I hate gettin' my picture taken but if a treat is involved, I'll do it so I came up with this so the humans can get their pictures of me.
Really it's a good thing I have facebook because I been keepin' y'all posted on the big things through that. But now that mom finally fixed this thing, I can at last give y'all more of my stories.
I'm off to find more eggs and eat them. Sweet! Dasher mom hid eggs all over the house for me to find. Ha ha! I found a bunch and Dasher and Winston didn't! Shoot ma! Don't shut me away! What do you wanna find the eggs for I wanna find them!

Mom's upset with me

Well all, I've got a few things to report here. First I've had a bad couple of days. Mom won't let me run loose in the back yard anymore. She takes me out on leash, I do my thing and back inside I go. And Dasher gets to go out all he wants and mom makes me stay inside. Ok ok I been eatin' stuff I shouldn't, but come on now I'm a dog! Doesn't mean I should be restricted from the great outdoors. It's borin' inside! I don't play, I never did like to play. So I just annoy the humans or sleep on my bed. I don't know why mom's gotta be so upset with me.
This next insident really was an accident. Mom used to sing up in front of the church with a bunch of other people, well she'd leave me in a room while she did this. Well back then I didn't care I didn't really like her all that much. But now, I sort of do and don't any of y'all be thinkin' I'm goin' soft or nothin' I mean it! So she started doin' this again and left me in the same room and told me to stay. Well I stayed but I wasn't happy about her leavin' me and walkin' off without me. She needs me a lot more I know that and she's just gunna leave me? I don't think so. Well she came back and I just flew to her like I hadn't seen her in a month. And boy I was a good girl leadin' her out and she told me to find Dasher dad and I did, and we went to our seat and there was Dasher mom, and mom was laughin' and proud of me, all that excitement, yeh it was too much. I sat down, and that's when it happened. I went in harness right there in church. O man! Shoot! Mom was not happy with me. So I've had a hard couple of days. I think I been makin' up for it though. Mom's been goin' out to different places and of course my work has been good. She goes to a class to learn more on that computer of hers and I take her from the truck to the classroom all by myself. She's real proud of me for that.
Ok weird story and I'll end this one. So about a week ago mom and my Dasher mom went to that place where it's dark and they watch a big TV and the whole place smells like pop corn? Torture for dogs. Well they're in line to get food and drinks. Dasher mom suddenly drops her bag of pop corn. Well the stuff went everywhere! I mean everywhere! I jumped back at first, but then, for the next 5 minutes, I had to stand there in the sea of pop corn and ignore it. Hardest thing a lab has to do is ignore food. I could hardly bare it. I kept lookin' around sayin' uh, I can clean this up in about 20 seconds. Really there's no need to sweep it up it'll just go to waste. But, I watched sadly as a lady swept it all up and caried it away. Humans! So wasteful! Mom and my Dasher mom thought it was the funniest thing ever too. They laughed and laughed. I don't get humans. Only other thing goin' on is the humans been takin' pictures of me. They make me sit or stand or lay in a certain place, then they call me but also tell me to stay. Or offer me a treat but don't give it to me till they flash those bright lights from the picture in my face. Good thing I have a nose to find the treat cuz that flash blinds me for a second. Again, Humans are so weird. Y'all behave now. I'm goin' to bed. Maybe mom will let me free outside tomorrow.

Humans are so weird.

Hey everyone,
Well this post is gunna talk mostly about one event that happened today that I still am confused over. I've seen humans do some pretty weird stuff. This one, is way up there.
So my mom and my Dasher dad get up early this mornin' and after feedin' me, we get in the little truck and go for a long drive. When we arrived at our destination, I knew right away this was gunna be a long challengin' day for me. It's allright, I'm up for a challenge. So in we go, and what do you think I saw? Cars and trucks. Yes, the things Humans ride and drive around in, all inside. Not only that, but strange colored and flashin' lights too. Now I've been to a place where my humans have gotten out and looked at vehicles, but it was outside. I wanna know how they got all those cars and stuff inside that buildin'. I mean some of the trucks were enormous! So, for the next few hours, I led mom around, tryin' to keep up with Dasher dad, tryin' not to get my mom run in to by other humans, so far, so good. I waited while they climbed in vehicles to check them out, all the while staring around bored with the whole process, but deep down, it was better than shoppin'. I hate shoppin'. So we soon took a break and mom and Dasher dad got somethin' to eat. So here I am, lyin' on the floor mindin' my own, bein' a good dog, when this kid comes out of no where and trips completely over me. I mean he fell flat on his face. It's kind of funny now, but then I jumped up all fast, hello! Watch where you goin'! Then I noticed all the food he dropped everywhere during his fall. Score for Reba! This act of rudeness might be worth it if I can have that sub. "Leave it Reba." Awe man! Shoot ma! He almost killed me! Let me eat his sandwich. Shoot they're just gunna throw it out anyways! She wouldn't let me though.
The second half of the day was spent doin' the same thing, accept the amount of people increased by about 2 or 3 times it seemed. Some man slammed in to my mom. Fool wasn't watchin' where he was goin'. Yeh you better say you're sorry to my mom shoot. Vehicle after vehicle we looked at in this seemin'ly never endin' buildin'. I even saw a truck hangin' upside down from the ceilin'. Whatever. Humans make no sense. What if that thing came crashin' down on us all.
I saw two other dogs in there too. Man I wanted to say hi too. They were trainin' for somethin', that I could tell. But mom wouldn't let me get close enough to ask. One of them looked like Winston. I thought it was him at first. But, no. Mom should be proud of me though. She said leave it and I did. Didn't wine or scrabble my feet or nothin' to get at those dogs. At last it was time to go and I was so excited to be back home. I played for a long time with my Duck with mom. My poor mom's had ear trouble the last several days. Guess even humans have to get their ears messed with. I been watchin' as my Dasher mom tries to clean it out again and again. I wondered why mom was actin' a bit funny when we work. Must have somethin' to do with her ear.
And here's my other story. So yesterday, we were in church, everythin' was normal when the pastor started callin' names of people to go up front. Well my mom was one of them. Excuse me? Where am I supposed to go this is new hello! So I take mom up front where she gets an award along with a bunch of other people. Good job ma. O man we gotta stay up here, everyone's lookin' at me! What are you lookin' at. I ain't even here. So finally we had to walk back to our seat and that's when I got all messed up. All the roes looked the same, I couldn't even find my Dasher mom or dad as a help to find our seat. Mom was gettin' frustrated with me cuz I wasn't wantin' to walk. I'm sorry ma I'm lost. This is all new what in the world! She was mutterin' under her breath. Woops. Blew that one. O well.
Not much else happenin' since my last post. I'll end this one for now. I'm off to sleep happily in my crate. Behave everybody.

Brief update

Hey everyone, It's been brought to my attention that I haven't posted in a bit so here goes. Actually there ain't much goin' on different for this lab. The humans are runnin' around like always. The only sad news is Winston and my April left a few days ago. For the first day I laid outside my April's door hopin' they'd come out or come back or somethin'. I wanted on my April bed too but mom stopped that right away. Shoot ma! Mom got out my stuffed toys again and I been havin' fun with them. I love caryin' them around the house. Mom and I have been goin' for walks again too. They started when my April was here with Winston. They walked to a store that was a long long ways away. It sure seemed that way anyways. Then they went again only this time they went in to one of those places where they watch loud movies and there's a lot of pop corn everywhere. Speaking of loud stuff I went to a party with mom tonight and it was so loud there! The humans were laughin' and havin' a great time. I thought forget sleepin' though I mean it! Mom's started singin' in the choir again. I seem to remember her doin' that years ago with me, but I don't remember the people singin' so high. Last practice I almost got up and left. Mom made me lay back down though. Like the title of this says, this is a brief entry. Most of you follow me on facebook so a lot of this is repeat. I just been hangin' out, sleepin', playin' some, beggin' from my Dasher mom, and goin' outside to eat that smelly muck that always gets mom so upset. I love instigatin' the humans. So what if I get my teeth brushed a lot more. Funny thing is the humans can't find what I'm eatin' and that bugs them more than me eatin' it. Ok, I'm off to sleep now. O and welcome to any new readers I have out there. Don't think I've welcomed in a while and I probably have new ones out there. See? I can be nice sometimes.
