Camping Vacation

Actually I don't know why that says vacation. Sure didn't feel like one for me. I been on campin' trips before with my mom, but I never see my harness usually at the camp ground. I can just be a dog. But this time, mom needed me. She worked me in harness a lot. I guess if it gets down to it I did enjoy it. Mom took me out every mornin' for a walk down to the pond. And yes, I was a good lab and found it for her. And I found the truck and camper on the way back too. Mom gave me lots of praise and my tail went non stop the whole time. The trip was great though. Lots of it was spent tied up while the humans sat around the fire or ate, but hey! That's cool too cuz I get to check out other dogs around. The humans say it's cool to people watch, I say it's cool to dog watch. Though humans are quite amusin' to watch too. I did my share of barkin' to alert the humans if somethin' was too weird for my likin'. Got in trouble for that though. Excuse me! Shoot one dog one mornin', yeh he looked innocent enough. Mom and I encountered him on our walk. He was tryin' to sneak up on my mom though. Him and his owner bein' all quiet. No way! I saw him. He was a big black dog and as we got close I tried to let him know I had my eye on him and not to try anythin' funny. Mom got after me though. Good grief ma I was just sayin' hi!

Ok so humans are so weird! They went away one morning, then came back with more stuff. Course they did! Humans always buyin's stuff. But they got shirts for us dogs. Mom always doin' this. She buys shirts and puts them on me. Shoot girl can't you see I already got fur on? Tons of it? I mean it I'm bout roastin' in this thing. But I wear it happily cuz it makes mom happy. Here ma, let me put a fur coat on top of your clothes and we'll see how you feel. That night the humans took us out and we got on this weird contraption that ended up bein' some sort of restaurant. Least that's what I thought till the thing started movin'. Excuse me! What on earth did mom get me on. I later figured out it was a train. It was cool though. Didn't go that fast, and for the rest of the evenin', I had to listen' to high pitched voices, guitars, they were tryin' to solve some mystery. I slept through most of it, but boy the humans sure were enjoyin' themselves. The next day we just sort of hung out, my mom, April, Winston, Dasher and I. Good we got to stay in the cool camper not tied up. Other than that, it's been more dog watchin', pretty relaxin' really. I'm mad at my April cuz the whole trip almost she wouldn't let me sleep with her. Excuse me! That has always been my spot when we camp. With my April on her bed. Winston gets too hot and he too big. O no though, every night it's Winston with my April. Fine. I'll go sleep on the hard floor. No it don't matter that I'm getting' old and my old bones hurt in the mornin' from sleepin' on the hard floor. Mom won't even let me sleep with her. But that ain't no surprise. She hardly lets me sleep with her when she's in a big bed. I'm used to it from her. But my April? Shoot! Mom did let me sleep with her one night. I was shocked.

One day it rained pretty much the whole day. We spent a lot of time inside that day too, but in the afternoon we got to go for a walk. Course I had to work, and Winston didn't, but that was ok I guess. Mom needs me. We saw a dead snake in the middle of the road. Shoot Winston almost stepped on it. What a blond. . We went down this trail and then all the sudden, my April lets Winston loose. Dasher got let loose too. And here's me, still in harness. Mom wouldn't let me go. Shoot ma! I wanna run too! So what if I don't come back when you call! I'm just sniffin' here lookin' for left hamburgers and hot dogs! Winston the goody goody stayed right with the humans and even went and swam in the pond. I have to say I did a good job leadin' mom through the woods though. She praised me up a lot all week. I was such a good dog. Winston even grabbed a hamburger on the walk. I laughed at him too cuz he got in big trouble. But I was jealous too. Least till I saw my April get it out of his mouth. He didn't even get the reward. We're back home now and it's good to be back in my crate. I got my cookie, and I'm signin' out for now. Y'all behave.

I'm bored

Hello all, Seems like I had another post several months ago that was entitled, I'm bored. Well, what can I say, I can only eat so many apples before I get bored. Speakin' of apples, that fool Squirrel! I'm gunna get 'em I mean it! He had the nerve to pick an apple off the tree and throw it, you heard right, throw it at Dasher. Dasher told me about it later. Said he pulled a mussle in his foot goin' after the dumb thing. Well I'm gunna get him for real! You don't mess with Dasher. Stupid squirrel comin' in here thinkin' he owns the place. Shoot! He lucky the humans don't pop him off with a gun or somethin if he gunna act like that. They think they so special cuz they can climb trees and jump from tree to tree. They ain't nothin' but cowards. Ok, enough of that rampage.
So I had to devise a plan to amuse myself today. I came up with a pretty good one too. Even if it did annoy the humans big time. Hey, I like to annoy the humans. So again, Winston was my helper in this. I told him, go to the door, and you see any movement, I mean anything, you alert us. So he did. And man did he do a good job. I ran over to the door so many times barkin' loud enough to scare anything. Then Dasher got in to it. Honestly, I think he gets the humans more upset than the rest of us. His bark really gets them upset. He starts barkin', they come runnin' to snatch him up. So this was fun for several times. Winston alerting us, me barkin' him growlin' and squeelin' in fear cuz he afraid of his own shadow, Dasher just barkin' cuz I am, and the humans gettin' up to make peace again and again. This one time, this lady came to our door, and we all went nuts. Mom comes over, and immediately goes for loud mouth Dasher. So she's got him quiet under one arm. Then she goes for Winston who by this time is about wettin' himself to get outside to greet the lady. He's jumpin' up and snortin' and all the rest of it. So mom grabs his collar with her other hand to pull him back. And here's me, dancin' around laughin' my head off cuz it's just so funny! Mom couldn't grab me, and then my Dasher mom came in all upset, this poor lady was just tryin' to give us a piece of paper. Dude I'm still laughin' about it right now. The humans threw us outside though soon after that. That wasn't cool. Shoot! I'm back to eatin' apples. I've already nocked over the apple bucket a bunch of times. Sure I can get apples off the ground, but why do that when they're nicely put in a bucket for me to just take.
We went on a walk tonight and Winston had to work too like me. I was glad. I don't like bein' the only one workin'. It was a nice walk, and mom said I did a good job. Though we were both hot when we got back. I think that's all my news for now. Stay tuned cuz I heard my mom talkin' to my Rachel, and apparently, mom messed up my twitter account so bad that she has to start over, and that means getting me a new e-mail address too. Shoot ma! Way to mess everything up! There she go! So, at least I still have this, and I'll update you all as to my new address and new twitter when that happens. Humans. Mom should have had my Rachel do it in the first place. Still though, I gotta give her credit, she did get it sort of workin', I can at least tweet. Ok y'all behave. I'll catch y'all later.

a bunch of stuff

Ok y'all, I got a few things here to discuss..
First, a man came today to help me and mom cuz she fallin' apart over there. Shoot she don't trust me as much or somethin'. Anyway, he helped her and me get better with our team work. In all fairness I been slackin' too. I like to pull mom left and she doesn't want that. But I'm catchin' on. I think it helped a lot, I know it wasn't stressful, and mom was relaxed, and the guy had treats so you better believe I was right behind him my tail justa goin'. That was the first part of our day. After that I slept for a very long time cuz workin' like that wore me out! Well soon Dasher alerted us that the menis was back. This squirrel with a chip on his shoulder keeps comin' in our yard. Dasher has tried and tried to catch him, but can't quite do it. So I've determined to catch him myself. A leaderdog isn't sposed to chase squirrels, but I ain't in harness, and he drivin' me nuts. So Dasher alerted us to him, and Dasher mom opened the door and out we flew. Dasher and Me, after the squirrel. Winston, well he was sayin' somethin' like oo goody! Let's run and play. Clueless. Anyway, I take a flyin' leap from the deck and land near the tree he likes to run up. Then with another leap I was on the tree. I was tryin' to climb up after him. Dasher stopped mid run lookin' at me like I was nuts. Guess I was pushin' it. Dogs can't climb trees and here I be miss black panther climbin' a tree. I didn't get him though. But man I was close I mean it! I'm gunna get him before the summer's over. I'll do it again.
Later in the day mom decides to brush my teeth. I tollerate this act, but really mom, is this necessary? Shoot! So I figured out somethin' for you dogs to try if ya don't want your human to brush your teeth. Mom's brushin' away and it dawns on me. Hmmmmm. I gotta sneeze I think. I know! I'll work up a big one and do it right in her face. So I'm sittin' there, she's still brushin' away, and here it come. So I didn't even lower my head. Just blew a sneeze all over her face. I laughed so hard till I figured out she was laughin' too. Shoot ma it wasn't supposed to be funny! Unbelievable! So because I sneezed so violently, I then had a sneezin' fit while mom walked away just laughin' her fool head off. Well that backfired. Here I am sneezin' my branes out and she in there laughin'. Whatever. Maybe it'll work better for you and your human.
We went on a walk again tonight and I was real good for mom. We even ran a little. Mom just needs to learn to trust me more. And I need to learn that I can take charge again. That mom will let me take charge again. Relax ma! I got us covered. Just keep talkin' to me. Other than those adventures, I been sleepin' eatin' apples, and lovin' life. Accept that man who came today, shoot he agreed that I was over on my wait. What in the world! Excuse me! You were sposed to agree with me Mr.! Shoot! Now mom's really diggin' in her heels about the whole diet thing. Guess I'll just waste away. By Reba! Shoot!
I'll be back with more adventures soon, till then, look for me on twitter. My twitter thing isn't workin' all that well. I want mom to cansel it cuz I don't think anyone's gettin' my tweets, but she's still got it goin' for me. Humans. Bless her. She probably set it up herself. Should have asked my Rachel to do it. My Rachel! Fix my mom will ya? You're better at computers than her and knowin' mom she probably messed it all up.

Gates

Hey there everybody.
So It's been a little bit since I posted here, but not much has been happenin' since the big move. Things seem to be calmin' down in to a routine around here. We dogs sort of hang out goin' in and out all day while the humans either clean or watch TV and eat. We get to go for walks every night. That's cool. Accept mom still has me work and Winston don't have to. I don't get it. O well. I get food rewards on the walk and he don't. So the humans got this halarious contraption. I think they got it to keep us out of the kitchen and dining room, but really they got 'em and they've done nothin' but trip over 'em ever since. They're I think called baby gates. And they are up to keep Winston and I out. Course Dasher, perfect Dasher gets to go in anyway. His food be in there and up till now, I been able to sneak in there and get it when no one around. But not anymore. Shoot! O well it's still amusin' cuz I seen my mom, my Dasher mom, and my April all trip over this thing. They forget it's there and they just nail it. Cracks me up every time. Way to get somethin' to stop us, and it causes you more trouble than it does us.
I went to the vet tonight to get my shots. I was fine till they weighed me and I hear mom say, Oo Reba, you're goin' on a diet. Excuse me? I am skin and bones here! I mean it! And she have the nerve to put me on a diet! I was a good girl in the vet too! I didn't even go nuts when we walked in and saw a big yellow lab there. He was wantin' to see me, but I wasn't interested. The vet says I'm healthy though. Course I am. And I don't need to be on no diet either! Shoot I can't believe this! My Dasher mom will fight this one for me. She always do. My Rachel! Tell my mom to feed me more! My April and my Karen too! Shoot all y'all worked on her last time and it worked she fed me more. So y'all gotta do it again or she'll starve me I mean it! 60 pounds. Shoot that skale be lyin'! There ain't no way I'm that much. I got a cool new rabies tag on my collar now. That's pretty sweet. I saw mom put it on and take off the old. Well I hope this rain stops. We didn't get to walk tonight cuz it was rainin'. Maybe tomorrow. Ok all, time for sleep. Y'all better be bein' good.
Reba the dog.
P.S. I have twitter now. So whoever wants to add me, if you have twitter, it's reebsrules. And yes she does.

Humans are so weird!

Ok y'all, tonight the humans and us dogs went to this place, it's the place where humans go and sit for a while and listen to a guy talk to them. Think they call it church. Well it's called nap time for us dogs. So that's what I was doin'. Mindin' my own when all the sudden, this guy starts sayin', "Get 'em!" Well he keeps saying it in that voice humans get with us dogs sometimes. He must have been tellin' a story or somethin'. So after a bit I looked up and was lookin' around for what in the world he was wantin' gotten. I'm sniffin', I don't see nothin'! Mom's yankin' me back and tellin' me to stay. Shoot mom he said get 'em! Winston was over there clueless sound asleep. Finally I did lay back down with a disgusted sigh. Humans are so dumb tellin' us dogs to go get somethin' that ain't even there. And we dogs are even dumber for lettin' the humans get away with this. I'm the biggest supporter of goin' against the humans, but that gets me every time. But at least when mom or any other that I'm close to says get 'em, there actually be somethin' to get I mean it!
Today we went to a few stores, and I did well guidin' mom around in them. Though somethin' up with her though. Seems like she can't see quite as well as normal because I'm havin' to compensate for more things. I don't mind, but she's havin' a hard time trustin' me so i end up hesitatin', which makes her not trust even more, and O my goodness would you just trust me for the love! Shoot have I ever led you wrong! Ok Ok I get lost a lot from who I'm sposed to be followin'. But come on now! I don't get ya hurt, I don't run ya in to stuff. We're workin' at it though. Winston was gettin' random stuff today. Why he gettin' stuff. Shoot I bet it his birthday or somethin' comin' up that the humans made up as an excuse to give us dogs stuff. When's that day gunna come for Reba and why's there only a few of those days? Shoot humans always buyin' stuff for themselves. I saw them take a bunch of money to a place, and hand it to a lady behind a counter, then turn right around and get the same lookin' money out of a machine at the same buildin'! What in the world! I shouldn't even ask anymore. Ok everyone, I gotta get outa here. My crate's callin' my name. Y'all behave yourselves. Matilda that means you too. I heard you been actin' the fool out there in California. Shoot you always actin' the fool. So you better stop it. Peace out y'all.
Reba the dog.

Moving means, I get to be a butthead.

Hey everyone,
Well first let me start by tellin' y'all that we are back at Dasher mom and dad's house. And I think we here to stay for a while because they literally packed up everything and brought it here. I saw the traylor they brought full of our stuff. And today, I watched as mom unpacked things and moved them in to the room we usually stay in when we just visit. She even set up my crate. Yep, I think we ain't goin' back to our house. Well, in all this excitement, I've noticed two things, and both yield the same results. I win basically. First example. Humans are loadin' and unloadin', us dogs are in the way tryin' just to figure out what in the world is goin' on. "Go on Reba! Go lay down!" Score! I'm free to search the house for food. Mainly Dasher food. But my Dasher mom sometimes leaves out snacks too. Example 2. Humans are loadin' and unloadin', barely even noticing that us dogs are around, sweet again! means I can sneak around and eat whatever I want and they don't even know it! Shoot I've eaten so much junk in the last several days, they don't even know how much I've eaten. They caught me a few times and yelled at me, but I don't care! Shoot I already got the food. So note to all you dogs, movin' ain't all that stressful as you first may think. Humans are clueless durin' this time. Take advantage of every opportunity here. They're runnin' around like mad things while you can do whatever you want, and every once in a while they hug you and say, "It's gunna be ok, I know you're stressed and don't understand." Yeh I understand one thing. Movin' means Reba gets more food. Shoot even since I been here, they still loadin' and unloadin' while I been eatin' Dasher's food, playin' in the garden, and just bein' an all around butthead. I wasn't sure where the humans took our stuff too cuz I saw the traylor full, then I saw it empty. I told Winston, I bet those humans threw all that stuff away! They so wasteful! But I don't think they did. I think they stored it away somewhere. The trip home was long and I was not a good traveler this time. I wanted more room I mean it! I've gotten used to havin' a whole back seat to myself I mean it! Mom usually rides around with someone and I get their whole back seat! Well anyway, I'm spralled on the floor here in mom's room after mom took us for a walk and made me work when Winston didn't have too. I let her know I wasn't happy either. I wouldn't stay right. No I ain't doin' it. I don't care what you do I mean it! Be happy I got you through the walk in one piece. It is great to be here I must say. Especially cuz mom finally got my toys out, and I get to play with my Winston again. Now if mom will just bring me my blanket. She said she accidentally left it in storage today. I'm bout to leave her in storage I mean it! Y'all be good, I'll be back later with more updates.
Reba the dog.

Yep, we're leavin, and what in the world was that!

I'm back again folks. And as you can see by the title, yes, we're definitely goin' somewhere. Mom is really packin' everything. There ain't nothin' on our walls anymore, and the number of filled boxes keeps increasin'. She was tapin' them up yesterday. I don't remember her doin' that the last time we moved. She just carried them out and across the parking lot. This looks different. I don't know where we goin'. I'm glued to mom now. I mean, she took the birds and fish somewhere and didn't bring them back. What if I be next. I saw her pack up my stuff though along with hers. She asures me everything's gunna be ok and that I'm goin' with her. Better believe it ma! Shoot I'm on her like glue! I got to get out and do some work yesterday and I was so excited to be in harness! I don't think my tail stopped waggin' the whole time. I wish I knew where we were goin' though. Mom keeps sayin' stuff about Winston and Dasher. Maybe they comin' with my April and my Dasher mom and dad to help load up stuff? Good. Least I'll see Winston once more before we go off who knows where. Long as I'm with mom everything's ok.
Ok so y'all, I saw the freekiest thing today. My mom and I went back to our old work place, mom was askin' for boxes. Shoot woman you got enough to box up the world don't ya think? Anyways, we went in to her old bosses office. I been in there lots of times and he got heads all over his walls. Deer heads. First time I saw them I thought huh? Where the other half be and why he stuck way up there on the cielin'! I thought either he got some wicked long legs or someone's playin' a dirty joke. But I looked around the wall and didn't see the rest of him, and he wasn't movin'. Must be fake. But they sure smell real. Anyway, today y'all, I walk in and this thing is starin' at me. This head, bigger than me! I thought what on earth! So I go up to it, shoot ma I know I'm in harness but you gunna have to get over it I gotta figure out what this thing is! I stood up on my hind legs to get a better look and sniff. Mom pulled me back and made me sit. No ma! I don't wanna sit! That thing's got antlers almost as tall as you! I gotta make sure it ain't alive! I kept sniffin' and cryin' cuz mom wouldn't let me too close to it. I heard them say it was an elk head. Just the head? Shoot where the rest of him be? Humans are weird I mean it! Killin' animals and mountin' their heads on the wall. Well, they only seem to do it for deer and stufflike that, but still! So that was my excitement for the day. I take each day at a time round here. All I know is, mom's still got my crate up, and she puts me in it every night and gives me a cookie still. Gotta have some sense of security through this. Y'all behave yourselves, I'll write more when and if things settle down again.
